GGS from G on Decs. 7.6mm of rain in preceding 24hrs. GStick 06:00am 18DegC. Light+ WSW Wind = 1/4 Tailwind from Left. Fuel Injection looked usable OR60s on Brocklesby PRev but trnr Midgley has a rotten record with 2yos stretching back a few seasons. No winner in 2012 & just 1 each in 2010-11, both in Aug incl one in a Nurs with a runner that had shown promise & finally delivered enough. What is he doing, or what problem is there to stop him producing better & more consistent runs? Some hints of a better run from Princess Myla 4TO after a brk and FInjection his first horse to make 1st 3 in 2012. FInjection on OR54 & clearly a better type than that. Noted before he had a climbing action and showed some of that here when running a bit freely in early race. Ran much straighter & controlled when hanging to the rail after he had pulled past the leader and forced an XF. Bring on Princess Myla off OR50s. Stiff pace set by Anytimeatall who seems like an obligate front-runner & runs a bit head up and looking bhd him as if feeling chased. Has good zip for 3F and had Secret Applause outpaced and that one only getting into the stallers and faders late and NIR. Anytimeatall headed by -1f+ by winner but po until -0.5f. OK height in grp & poss tallest if SNrw. Ought to be compet off OR if gets fast 5f & not GGS. Not helped by Apprentice here who allowed the hrs to go a bit too fast and raced away from the rail despite being clear. |
