GGF from G on Decs. GStick 08:30am. 17DegC. Medium Westerly Wind = Close to Half Headwind from Right. Break Picture = Pic 1, with TSOG best break, DHIT (6), Classic Pursuit (2) & Chess Valley (3). GGF but stiff shower aroung 15:45pm & no going change. Headwind but extended distances in both 2yo races and WTRB in both saying horses didn't handle the going. Being near the rail poss adv and DHIThen got to lead on rail early. But, with Fallon in a bad case of 'Teach to Settle' mode and hanging onto the horse for all he was worth. Which meant DHIT racing part sideways with head held left for first half of race and ModResp when Fallon stopped pulling him back and started with the whip (that must confuse the horse no end. What do you want? Stop or Go?). DHIT looking solid build & ok for OR65 and in good cnd and very fit. Horse & jk argument contributed to early fade. MofLife looking in good cnd on return from break and more mature and none of the fizzy behaviour & XNB of last run at course in May. Attended pace set by DHIT cmf in Ln1 and produce an ok effort to win. Except for DDuel other 4 all racing Ln3 and wider with the widest 3 fading early. CValley in Ln3 and able to make some effort but never looking likely to chal for win. DDuel look outpaced erl or thinking and wider out. Jk Atzeni made sensible decision +1.5f to XB and work from there. Did more than just po up the open rail into faders. Got from 3L+ back of lead at Hf to 2nd pace on tail of MoL by-1f+. Trying hard from there. Bigger than expected on previous presents. |
