Charlton website pre-race wrt Stomp = "having passed his stalls test at Salisbury last week and he will be aided by the excellent Gary Witheford this evening. He is a strong and good looking colt and should run well but our two year old colts seem to be a little behind the fillies."

Charlton post race = "Stomp ran a better race than he had done at Ascot, still learning and he should be capable of further improvement. His race was run in a new two year old course record and the ground would have been plenty fast enough for him. "

Field came centre HS with wide spread. First two home plus GSprea got well over towards Stands' Rail. Spiritual Flame more Cent-Stds. Stomp Cent FrSd alone and given an easy time last 1f and finishing race off fine but not pressed by Jk.
