Candy interviewed after race and said Treaty Of Paris was nicknamed 'Monster' bec he like to flex his muscles and be the boss. But the horse had worked with useful older horses at home and was well ahead of his other 2yos. He had run in the 7f Novice at NMKJ LTO to see whether he stayed 7f but Candy said the horse had run 'very flat' and returned an abnormal blood test the next day. The horse had come back well though and recent blood tests very positive. Despite his smaller size Candy very confident the horse had more development yet. In the race he got an easy lead but his attitude of wanting to be the boss showed up againast other horses. The larger Il Paparazzi looking to be going better than him ins-2f but ToP battled IP off until that one FdLt. Then had to find a bit more as TGG finally started to make some Prg towards LdgPr late on and overlapping ToP near line.

TGG effort & some of others prob worth viewing through filter of firm going and a Tailwind. Hard to run down horses with a lead off a usable pace. Race before this saw a course record. Jk Hughes said he had walked the course (for Toronado later in pm) after 1st race and said you couldn't see where the horses had run (no divots etc) & felt in was pretty firm. TGG may have been struggling to pick up on firm ground against quickening rivals and making some progress late on as the duelling LdgPr at -2f finally started to fold back a bit. Other three from further back finished in a line together and not fdg & again looking like horse struggling to differentiate themselves in a sprint finish.
