GSG by race time. GS from GGF on Decs. 10mm watering "Mon/Tue". 5mm rain overnight. GStick 07:00am Stalls Centre. 16DegC. Light+ Westerly Wind = Slight Tailwind from Right. Channon interviewed earlier in day and said he thought Ambria's Fury was badly handicapped with OR67. Said he hoped the handicapper was right but he should win this race if he really in OR67. On Ests AF has run to just over OR50 in first 3 runs. Has RPR of 65 and a Time Figure of 46. Don't know why Channon is complaining, he knows what the game is and how it is 'Distorted'. His own fault for running AF in a slowly run NWBY maiden after running it at NMKJ FTO. Send it to WTON, CHEP & BVLY instead & it could have run to exactly the same REAL performance numbers and be well below OR67. This a very weak race. [Post Race = AFury finished 3rd but beaten by a horse with OR45 at level weights. AFury also just in front of two horses who had shown nothing in 3 x combined prev runs. ] Callan put up 1lbs ow on wnr & interviewed afterwards & said the jks he had been travelling with had been delayed on the M4 around Bristol and diverted thru Bristol Ring Road. Got to the Course late. Also asked what James Tate secret was with his 2yos (has had a good 2nd season in WBR & getting multiple wins). Batted that away by saying there was no secret. Tate just got the horses fit and ran them in the right races. Unlike CE Brittain who he is presumably going to replace fully at some point. Who knows what Brittain's strategy is. It's been opaque for at least 40 years. Field raced Centre and pace prob 0- although enough to drop the Inx ones and those appearing not to handle the Track (Gold Class). |
