SUMMARY

Note SSW Going. First meeting back after 'refurbishment' of the track surface. Some meetings transferred during break incl Fri mtg to SWEL. This note in the Going report = "A refurbishment trial was successfully completed this morning with horses running over 7f and then the extended mile. Jockeys attending the trial included Robbie Fitzpatrick, Stephen Craine and the recently retired Tony Culhane."

How can this be a 'Trial' when it's done on the Morning of an Evening Meeting? What if the jockeys had come back and said "No, it's still dangerous and there is still too much kickback including kicking up compacted lumps the size of big snowballs." Worth noting that report is timed at 06:30am. What time were the jks & horses there? Whose horses were they? Long road for those in racing ever to really 'get' the importance of information to racing followers.
