SGS by 11:50am. S from SGS on Decs. 5mm rain in previous 24hrs. GStick 06:00am. 14DegC. Stiff SW Wind = 1/2 Headwind from Left HS. Stalls StdsSd but wide across course. Initial hint that some would stay Centre track in separate group but they drifted over to join Rail Group before+2f. Black Treacle started well enough from Centre draw to be able to XF to Lead on Stds' RL comfortably. Running this rail looked some level of Adv through the Meeting. With 4-5Wd Stack of Horses those running Near rail & prominently also did well to add to the winner. MTRules in 6th at Hf but actually the Horse behind the winner on the Rail. No Leaf Clover alongside MTR in Ln1 The possible Effect of running prominently on rail being an Adv increased because runners behind leding line all switching Left towards Centre to be able to get a Clear run. This meant they were covering extra ground and getting into tangles with other horses. No Leaf Clover moved wide to make her effort-1.5f and Ln4 by-1f. Scots Law goin ok ins-2f but caught in a pocket made by Damaah & Foxy Clarets drifting back and ended up in Ln5 and heving to restart effort by-1f. By the last 1f only horses close to rail were = the first two home duelling plus Kickboxer po with Clear run past wider runners and Atheera a mod effort and hmp by Kickboxer but easing anyway. Left Defender a poor effort given he was well placed at hf but ModResp & Fd-1f. Mr Matthews SFreOv and running wide. Still running freely and Held ins-2.5f and looked to clip heels and Stumble with a slightly delayed UR as the jk tried to hang on. |
