GSG from GGS on Decs. No info about Rain. GStick 06:45am. Rails all Fully In. 17DegC. Stiff to Medium WSW Wind = 1/2+ Headwind Downhill & HS, close to Direct Headwind on the Ridge. [Post Race[ Again proved vital to re-watch the debut run by Manipulation and noting he appeared to have growm since his 'so what' Breeze in late March. This race could be used as a Set Text for those trying to understand what the WFA scale does within a season and how Scope, or lack of it, matters during the season. G Man small and limited and showed all he could in early races. Struggling to hold off the sl bgr SClavique here before-2f. Manipulation lengthy and Bggst in the fld and hauled to sit last. looked like he might just plain lack pace on Ridge when nggld at times but always resp. Clear from the Downhill section he was going to win as he moved out to cent to make Prg as the rabbits biffed each other about. Perhaps aided by the smaller ones softening themselves up but just a bigger horse, with scope, going away from the scopeless Fav & sim. |
