SUMMARY
GGS as on Decs. 1mm of Rain Ovenight. GStick 07:45am as 5.9 Centre, Far & StdsSd 6.0. But then says overall is 6.3 without giving a figure for any part of the Round Course.

Notes include this nonsense = "Racing on inside racing line reducing official race distances by 24 yards for races of 1 mile or over." So the 'Normal' postion of rails isn't the Inside Line? This is now 2yds short of a 7.9f race?

12DegC. Stiff to Strong NNE Wind = Close to 3/4 Headwind from Right HS.

Fahey pre-race = "We haven't had Rangi Chase for long but he's progressing. I was a bit disappointed not to win with him at Hamilton last time but I think greenness rather than a lack of ability was his downfall there. Hopefully he'll step forward again in the Auction Stakes. He looks to hold a rock-solid chance and could be the one to beat. "

Usable pace bit some bizarre riding from those who got themsleves behind midfield from before the turn to the HS. For example, what were the jks on Rough Courte, Savana Spring & Aldreth doing to get themselves so far back and putting their horses out of the race before Hf. RCourte hauled back 5-6L early and XB to last then jk seemed more interested in getting her to settle than attend to how far he was getting behind. Aldreth just seemed the typical MWE approach and riding for some day beyond 'Today'. Hanagan on Savanna Spring another who hauled the horse back that got into a full-on battle trying to settle him and the race just pulled away from them. Grisly.

Best VTLs as Savanna Spring (6.35), Green Zone (5.7), Rangi Chase (4.25), Aldreth (3.84), Mayfield Boy (1.7) & Rough Courte (1.09). Penhill -10 & why so poor? Moving a bit Awk ins-2f and gone by then

Race played out oddly in HS with what looked a 'Creep Zone' until-2f when the field looked wide spread across course and poss only 6-7L deep with Rough Courte running Far Rail and (hard to judge with foreshortening) perhaps only 3L down ins-2f, Faded solidly ins-1f to hide any of that. Winner & 3rd finished away from others on StdsRL with RChase in Centre track. Green Zone did more than just plug on by using Creep Zone & getting to around 5th by-1.5f+ before stalling back a bit in last 1f. Diff type to tall & leggy Penhill for eg. GZ shorter but solid build with Ok Len. See how this promise goes as Devt. Bold Captain right in 2R-2f+ but outpaced but po right through last 1f like a, slow, stayer.
