SUMMARY
G from GF on Decs. 5mm Watering on Sat and 8mm of rain from Sunday through to early Monday.

Likely's Beeze Video not as 'Terrific' as you would expect for £340k. Looks an upright front, straight moving and fast action type of sire. Perhaps a bit less narrow than typical. Picture on Qatar Racing website makes her look small but perhaps that is a 1yo picture? Looks a solid medium size on the VT. The name 'Shumoos' kept popping up looking at the pictures.

Miss Mulberry's Breeze video from the sale helps to make Likely's seem better. MM a deep enough and solidly built one by Kodiac. But a bit green and hangs a bit left and right during the breeze depending what lead she is on. Action in front looks a bit round and galloping and not fast ground 5f speed.

Larger fields in the last 3 years of the equivalent race have produced a single subsequent Maiden winner in Total. That one ended the season on OR66 after a raft of runs after his win. Other than that just a handul of Nursery & Seller/Claimers winners. This year's Quality relatively?

The Post Race answer to the Pre-Race 'Quality' question seems a clear answer but with some wrinkles. Likely a medium size but enough power and a fluent mover on faster going. Rangy in front and the upright type of her sire. Travelled easily in behind and got to the lead inside tha last 2f just going at her own pace. Jk able to sit quiet as she went clear and then asked her for a kick just before the last 0.5f and she found a good forward effort. Finishing the race going strongly. That final effort and the easy travelling looked something 'Different' and the question for her reliable trainer whether to go to the Queen Mary or the Albany at Royal Ascot. Staying on well here but seems to have plenty of basic pace so either would be ok. Often the case with the zippy ones by the sire how much scope they have to develop into later season but looks up to competing for the win/places in a Royal Ascot race.

Update 29th May = the Picture below which shows Likely in the sales ring at Doncaster adds a lot more to the story. An unusually Lengthy and loose moving set-up. Broader in the chest than expected. A bit light in the Drivetrain but a mobile link to 'enough' power behind. Clearly that set-up 'works' well together and the movement it allows perhaps leading to something 'Different'.

Mattmu completing a hat-trick of running into soild/good horses and, unlike first 2 runs, the race went ok for him here. Probably not a speed 5f horse and pressed the pace here and not quite getting home but a solid effort to a very clear 2nd. Some sort of 75-80 type running into a Group level one here.

Which would mean this year's edition is better than the previous three on the first two home. The big gap back to 3rd+ raises the question of whether there are any other 60+ types in the field that can win? Lady Desire a small one and green and outpaced to get adrift. Perhaps showed a little bit in getting back to the group late on but 'staying on' at best and probably more 'trundling' into tired horses. 50s and 60 a high for her even in dire Northern events? 6f+ in future presumably.

Robben a smaller one and still running green from a wide draw but also outpaced. Some mild plugging on in the uphill HS. A development project being brought along slowly for low level Nurseries.

Don Ricardo a possibility for a better 5f debut from Fahey after having a couple recently following a lull from earlier season and a lot of lesser debuts in between. And expensive one by Acclamation out of a 5f 2yo dam for owner Steel all sounds like an ok one on Profile. But, another small and trundlier one. Also green and never really letting himself go on the ground. Like Robben, on looks and how he went through this race a low level Nursery developer if anything.

Of those in the ruck most development interest in Miss Mulberry & Twin Turbo. MissM a bigger type in conext of the race and an untypical O'Meara debut as a pace presser but a 2yo Breeze buy so an untypical preparation.MissM running much too free in front and mixing it with the two better types. Able to produce an ok effort inside 2F out but then getting very tired and finishing well behind where she fits on PRev. Ok for 70+ and O'Meara able to fix here STO?

Twin Turbo a medium sized one in the field but a typical MaJo FTO in many ways. Bit clueless at the start then getting a bit fired up. Followed that by getting unbalanced around halfway and hampering OP on the rail. But and ok effort to get to clear 4th before a bad fade. Late 60s or perhaps a bit higher over 7f?

Ocean Sheridan another small one running ok but a low form level and no real interest. Toni's A Star some basic pace but looks too small to use that to win a nursery except at the lowest level.
