SUMMARY
Rail on Inside Line? Going changed to G by race time. No Watering & GSG from GS on Decs. Medium Tailwind Uphill and helpful in HS.

Rare FTO win for Easterby but around the time of year when he gets the odd ones with his best 2yos. But, normally at Ripon which has the Maiden he normally targets with his better 2yos 3 days after this race. DTAnnie never entered for that race and he has the colt Reassert & the filly Zeela entered at RIPN. This pair better than DTA?

A moderate quality field on Profile for a race with open Maiden status. Entries for race much more interesting but with entries from the likes of Johnston, Ryan, Hannon & Varian not declared left a thin looking field unless War Paint a better type. Horsforth did not show much ability in the Brocklesby but trainer Coyle has mostly looked assured with his handling of his cheap 2yos & this one well presented STO and ran well. Bigger bulk in context of field and ran a very competent race. Broke, well, crossed to the rail and controlled the pace of the race while listening to the jockey. Made a solid effort into the straight and only run down in the last 1f. Probably not Open Maiden level and probably showed most of herability here. But, that is enough to win an early Fillies' auction race or a weak maiden if a race cuts up.

Dont Tell Annie bred by the Easterbys, apparently, out of a winning dam that raced for them and this owner. Looked a smaller and ready type with a fast action. Unlike a number in the race looked a willing trier as well. Debut winners this early for Easterby are usually OR80+ types and often the best he has. As noted above this seems more like a natural runner in a softer race than being up to that quality. See how the Ripon race goes.

Dascombe another trainer who has turned around his FTO MO completely. Used to be a ready FTO and with Kingscote riding (the direct opposite of Spencer in being able to consistently get 2yos into competitive positions FTO) got many strong debuts. That has gone now and this another uncompetitive debut by a green one here with War Paint. Never really going forward and showing signs in the HS that she might not be striding out properly (attitude, green or feeling something?). Stayed on in the last 0.5f as if she needed further and hadn't been going flat out before. Didn't stand out in the group considering you could have bought and bred the other 8 for her purchase price. Probably ok for 70s and perhaps 75 but not a certainty to convert STO in a solid field (neither on ability nor enthusiasm on this display).

Ar Coleen Aine perhaps an advert for the 'Sunk Cost Fallacy'. Out of an unraced mare who cost a lot of money and now the owner is trying to get some money back by breeding from that dam. ACA another smaller one and willing but not a straight mover in front. Another looking 60s and not Open Maiden level.

Jockey Mullen on Appleberry which should have made her the better of his pair of runners. Also bigger type than Lotara and would prefer Applebery going forward. She ran too free wide here but a fasr fade given that. Another development 60s one? Lotara trundled round the rail and never got into the race at all and another smaller uninteresting one.

Evans presumably bought Is She Any Good so he could relieve memories of The Kiddykid. But, still owned by him here and looking small, unready in condition, unwilling in attitude and unable to move straight. Apart from that, she's terrific, David.
