Medium to Stiff NW Wind = Half Headwind from Left HS. Fast Time but fast conditions. Following 5f race won by an OR70 5yo in 58.05s (8-11) and then an 8f race in 96.76s by an OR614yo (9-3). Peace And War talked up by Qatar Racing's bloodstock agent Redvers and including recommending her to people to put into the Qatar 10-to-Follow competition. PAW had been an NR 4 times previously for soft turf so the switch to AW here presumably a run to be able to consider RASCT. Mixed messages here and running green at times and when niggled along downhill not looking a likely winner. In that context she did well to run down a rival in the HS who had run professionally in fast conditions. On the PRev side a compact, deep sprinter type and moderate scope. Khawaater an untypical Varian debut for an ok one in not competing for the places but NPIR after a slow start. Similar type to winner and competent run and mid-70s? Little of interest behind except to note yet another under-prepared debut for an Appleby FTO for Godolphin with Winter Queen. Clueless though most of the race looking leggy and underpowered then an early fade. |
