SUMMARY
GSS from GGS on Decs.

Called a 'Auction' race in the Title but a WFS Maiden race with the individual horse's sales price a qualifying level. Weights carried not tied to the sales price. An unusual field with 8f fillies and one male and presumably another indication that females, lacking pedigrees that 'read well' for breeding purposes, wil be cheaper than males for similar physical types.

Star Pursuit's does a breeze in a pair and leads the other 2yo in the gather phase. SP thens gets free and FFH as soon as the other horse joins her for the gallop part of the breeze. SP looking a small and neat one who will be best as a 5f sprinter. Size an issue and likely to run free in the race on the Breeze VT. But, also ran straight and looked willing so could get invloved in the first 4 of this weak race. Either if she settles and is held up and then plugging on towards the 4 later on or, more likely, running free early in the leading 4 and then fading.

1 Colt versus 8 x Filies but race seemed a simple stopry. Union Rose some sort of usable 65-71 type and ok buils in his smaller medium size. Neatly made and mostly a trier although not handling very wet ground LTO. Hustled into a lead on the rail here and just overpowered a ragbag assortment of low quality fillies. Hannons know that Jimmys Girl may well need to drop to a seller and they will struggle to win with her. A bit taller than the other fillies but narrow and lightly built. Even so, with a Hannon prep she runs competently and runs 2nd but a poor performance.

Maesmore Magic snother smalle filly for trainer Meade as he tries to get his full-time career going. MM small and underpowered but fit enough to plug on past some faders but to a worthless 3rd and no obvious scope.

Not much interest behind. River Spirit better built than the average filly here but gave a muted performance as if her attitude was an issue or she just didn't handle the going. But late 50s to 60 if she wroked properly. Why was Star Pursuits favourite? The Quinlan's did used to go in for punts on debut although a lot less regularly competitive FTOs for some years now unless 75+ types. SP looking small in this group and looking green for a lot of the race before fading. That may have been some response to no handling the ground as the trainer said. But, if she ran competently did they really think she was going to be big and fast enough to outspeed and outstay UR? See what the Market says NTO..
