SUMMARY
GSS as on Decs with 2mm of rain since Decs.

Rail out by between 3yds to 9yds for entire Course. This Race now 6f 55yds (6.25F) long and 37yds more than advertised.

Fahey Pre-race in SL piece = "Billy Slater is our first runner at Chester in the Maiden Stakes. He has been very laid back and green and, for one of ours, will come on a ton for his recent debut there. The favourite Baitha Alga will take a bit of beating but our fellow is nice. He might just need a bit more racing to get fully on the ball though."

Very slow time even given the going and the extra distance. Pace seemed to be slow through mid-ace but inreased before 2F out. Other than the winner and the last home the others finished in a heap but going foward at different rates.

Baith Alga a comfortable winner and would have won easily but for being cut-off on the Far Rail after Dettori tried to switch to it after the cut-away. BA going so well relative to the others he was able to switch out to centra and get to the lead by 1F out and jk able to sit quiet. Not a lot learned other than he is a lot better than the opposition and handled the going well and always trvelling best.

Cymro a shorter medium one with ok build and more length than his 1yo pic promised. Green overall and never travelling well and the jk always active to some extent. Dropped to 6th as the pace upped towards 2F out and then a long bout of plugging on at his own pace got him to a NIR 2nd late on past the faders. Came across like he needs 7f or further is the lack of pace here not just due to the ground and lack of nous. Probably a bit below Open Maiden level .

Pospeswood on 3TO for Channon and like a lot of his horses of late seems at his peak level (mid to late 60s). Smaller type in field but running competently although having to race 2 wide overall. Solid effort at his level before a late fade. Need a weak maiden or auction if he is to win. What OR likely for Nurseries = 73?.

As Fahey said in his SL piece Billy Slater still looking clueless and having to be encouraged along by the jk all through the race. Plugging on along the rail in the last 2F but carved up just before the cut-away and switching out to centre track. Some slow plugging on there and perhaps looking more promising than it was. A smaller and neat one and not looking Open Maiden level even when he wises up.

Anonymous John a late debut for Evans which usually means they are useless, need 7f+ or been held back by injury or illness. Another smaller one but ok deep body and neatly made. Notably smaller than Indescribable when attending that one. Ran Lane 1 throghout and travelled fine to 2F out lost 3 places late to pluggers on who didn't travel as well to the pace. Ok promise but another not-quite-70 one in a lesser field overall.

Indescribable an ok size and build and appeals as one of those MaJo 2yos who blossoms in nurseries after they have learnt to settle and go up in distance. Followed a lost debut by being hustled early from the widest draw to forace his way to the lead. Sweating AP and once he had reached the lead took a long time to settle down and over-racing. Like AJ made a solid effort 2F out having wound the pace up before that and also lost 3 places in the last 0.5f to the plugging on Closers. Might be best if he had a 3TO run which futher disguised his development potential and hopefully he will get a usable Nursery mark with form figures of '004' looking a bit unappealing.
