GGF from GSG on Decs. 1mm of rain overnight. Pce looked solid and Free Entry able to lead on the rail and pull clear of the other prominent racers in the last 1.5f. The second time she has finished clear of the 3rd without winning but doing 'nothing wrong' and running close to her level and beatern by a stronger filly. Stop the video anywhere before Halfway and you would not think Effusive has any chance of winning. Running green behind the leading 6 and hustled along to not drop more than 5L back by halfway. Making a willing effort in the HS uphill and reduced that deficit to around 3f out by 2f out. Note that both she and Heaven's Secret made their ground wide on the track. FE and the 4 with and behind her at Hf ran close to the rail and little change in those five's relative positions other than FE pulling clear of them. Effusive a similar height to FE but notably bulkier and very strong in front. Staying on at the end and 6f ok. Inclined to the view she showed something minorly Different and ok into the 80s and a full PRev check needed. Effusive the 5th runner for new Sire Starspangledbanner and the 3rd winner and the other two have hinted at being usable. When does 'sub fertile' for a sire become ok? Worth noting that FSS often get the 'best' set of mares they will ever cover unless they prove successful. Looking at the dams of SSB's 5 runners to date they are a mix of proven Group producers down to unraced mares with little pedigree to recommend them. Effusive's dam a bit above a notional average and an OR85 type herself and believable that Effusive is similar. Miami Caousel slightly smaller than FE but ok build for 60s but lacking FE's good athleticism. Running to Freely here as he had hinted at FTO. A similar result with him only able to produce a lesser effort 2F out which saw the better horses go way from him (as at BVLY) but able to keep him ahead of 'the rest'. Lack of a strong effort an issue but usable in the 60s for Nurseries. Heaven's Secret the 44th debut for Fahey this season which meant he was 2 ahead of Hannon in individual 2yos to have run by the end of the day. Fahey has developed to being notable for getting 5-6f FTO wins (with 7f wins also coming along) but is well behind schedule this year with only 4 to date. Look through his list of Debuts and only Zuhoor Baynoona reads like a full-on debut win by a good one. The debuts since May 1st look uninspiring overall. A moderate group by his standards or buying different types? Look back to 2013 and he had 9 x FTO wins by this point and 8 of those at SPs of 100/30 and under and one at 17/2. The FTO winner names told you what sort of year he had coming from Mid-season on with Group winners Sandiva, Supplicant & Old Boy Lukey backed up by a strong cast incl Peniaphobia & Parbold. Look at the 2014 debut list to date and the same quality hard to see. HS mostly clueless which perhaps explained her 12/1 SP (usually a sign of an uncompetitive one for the day). A medium one with a solid build, Made some ok progress in centre track but not looking like a 5f type. Looks a head down galloper/reacher and with some notable knee action. Looking like she needs further but with some bulk to devlop. Soie D'Leau back to running a competent race on an uphill track as he had at BVLY FTO. Unbalanced at RDCR STO. Similar minor effort 2f out to BVLY and the same fade in the last 0.5f. Low 60s perhaps but developing a bit with racing and the type the Stubbs' usually keep running to a leel and find a winnable race. Shortmile Lady competent and fit enough for the race (Dods typ) but looking too small to be interesting. Compton River a smaller one and also trainer typical in being to fired up and running freely. When the jk stopped holding him and asked him to make an effort not much happened and some hanging before fading. Little Lady Katie prob small and no interest but jk spent a lot of effort being inactive and making sure she was never put into the race. Similar happy-to-trundle-round-at-the-back from jk on Fairweather Trader 3TO but small and poor form anyway, Empty Plots. |
