SHV from S on Decs. Meeting had to survive an Inspection Sunday AM. GStick 3.6 on Sat am (lowest reported anywhere in last 2+ seasons. Interesting Breeze from Indian Joe at the 2yo sales. A small one but deep through and stockily made. Ok power given his size if he can move ok. Runs a bit freely in the breeze with a fast action and a (slightly painfull to watch) hard pounding action in front. Despite that he finishes the breeze off ok suggesting he might be a bit better than his smaller size. . Slow pace with field trundling dowm centre of track. Two in first 2 places at Hf got there because the worst pullers & FFH early. unimformative race with a slow pace and a 2F+ sprint tacked on at the end of a jog. Fuwairt hauled back to last and set the task of getting 2L back on what are prob 3 x usable 60s types of some sort. Got most of that back by being allowed to progress in the Creep Zone. Then had to be asked for full effort to go 1-2L clear of IZ & RT after the HnH from Dettori did not get the job done. Ok, he won a bit comfortably and stayed 6f at a slow pace. But he looked like an 80+ horse putting away work hoses but not that smoothly. Interesting to see whether he makes the Al Shaqab RASCT team. Lets toss a coin and say No. Or if he turns up it wont be in the first colours. Most interesting thing was to see Dettori stop riding late on when 1.5L clear and the horse seemed to start pulling up quicker than he expected. Dettori then part pulling him up. This cause RT behind to have to take avoiding action and lose second. Fallon is the star performer when it comes to pulling up horses before the line and losing places and hampering others but it never gets mentioned. Dettori likes a bit of it from time to time like pushing for the whole 6f is a bit beneath him. As the text at the bottom shows it made it to the Steward's Room but Dettori did nothing wrong apparently. Unless he used some excuse like his horse baulked at a bit of paper blowing around then he clearly did do something wrong. When you get to Fallon and Dettori's position are you allowed to ride to your own agenda? The voiceover on ATR suggested it wasn't on and the sort of thing perhaps the senior jks sorted out between themselves. Dane O'Neill (RT's jk) seems too placid a guy to threaten Frankie with a 'slap' if he ever did that to him again. Where's Franny Norton when you need him. Red Tornado a smaller one but ok build and in good condition and competent. Travelled a bit better than his effort but usable 60s. Jaganory a late debut for Evans which usually means a non-winner type but owned by Wayne Clifford which improves the likelhood of being a usable one a lot. But not debuting at SALS so perhaps not a 70+ one for Clifford. Enough size and athleticism to be usable 60s if lacking some build. Ran like he got outpaced but plugging back to RT at the finish like a 7f+ one. Invincible Zeb a bit too free and sweaty and not seeing the 6.1f out. But enough bulk to think he can develop with racing for Harris and find his competitive level in nurseries in the 60s at some point. Indian Joe looking smaller than RT and too green to run a race here. Not showing any immediate promise his Breeze might have hinted at. Breezes really are very different from races when you really think about it (lump Fuwairt into that thinking and has he looked like 320k well spent in two goes?). Report fom the SEnq = "The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference just before the line. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race they found that there was interference between the winner, FUWAIRT (IRE), ridden by Frankie Dettori, and RED TORNADO (FR), placed third, ridden by Dane O’Neill, but were satisfied that it was accidental." |
