SUMMARY
GGS from GSG on Decs. 2.4mm of Rain overnight.

Cheeky Chapman a bit better physically than his Breeze sales price promises in his Video. A smaller one but ok build and some length in his breeze video. Starts off by going Head up and right and hang left offering. But gets organise din last 1F and goes along ok to perhaps be ok into the lower 60s. Still green there though and trainer has no record with 2yos at all.

Flicka's Boy 'sold' at the DBU Breeze sale in April but the sale then cancelled. Video of his breeze shows a small one with a longer neck carried awkwardly. Some depth and power in the body but never reaches out in the breeze and might lack any range, Spends most of the Breeze with his head held up and out so the rider can ever get hold of him and ask him to go quicker. A bit of hanging right hand as well. Rider has given up by 0.5f from end and the pair trundle home down the rail.

You would presume the Breeze sale price of Adulation reflected the quality of her breeze and her physical type, given her pedigree is ordinary. An unremarkable breeze largely showing a typical medium type of the sire with the normal length. Probably just medium build. Mature looking. Breeze gets better as it goes on with the first 1F looking a bit like learning on the job but than Adulation settles into a balanced rangy stride in the 2nd 1F and mostly sees the final 1F out.

Dods interviewed before the race and said Smart Stepper had been fine int he stalls at home before his aborted debut at CATT on May 6th. Dods said SS had done stalls work with the ubiquitous Witheford and had passed a PFCT stalls test. Said that he wouldn't normally run SS in a 'race like this because it looks a bit hot'. Adding that they just wanted to get him a runa nd see him bahve well and the headgear only on to help keep him calm AP. Pessed with the usual question about 'Royal Ascot' he said he would discuss with the owners about Sea Wolk & Buccaneers Vault running there but Dods looking doubtful. Adding that 'Ascot isn't everything' and you could 'ruin a horse' running there.

Another puzzling race to start the day if you have done some looking at pictures and videos of the runners available on the Internet. Don't bother with that and the result looks fine and a Hyped Dascombe 2yo manages to win despite making and finding some problems. The problem with that approach is that you can then listen too much to others to make the decisions over what quality this race was. Hype beforehand and jk and assistant trainer talking Angelic Lord up after the race saying he will improve a lot and a near certainty to go to Royal Ascot. Add in that you hear Captain Cliche saying that trainer Tate "..wants to take Al Fareej to RASCT" and this is strong form right? The third is an expensive Breeze puchase for major connections and was beaten. This is a strong race, surely? Well not if you, and others have spent some time looking at the horses and pictures/videos. Who's 'right', or more usefully who is less wrong and what correct parts are worth saving, and who and what is not?
