Course had to pass an inspection for racing to go ahead. Going changed to Heavy at 14:00pm after 13mm of rain since 03:00am and rain still falling. .G at 05:45am from GSG on Decs and GGS for previous day's meeting. 1.5mm of rain since 03:00am and rain showers forecast for the rest of the day. 40p/£ Rule 4 Deduction. Geordie George's Breeze Video a mixed story given the £52,000 price. Looks a typical 'Kodiac' shaps in being compact but deep F&B. A balanced set-up and a sprinter if anything. But he doesn't seem to show much Zip in the Breeze and perhaps because the rider is too passive. Does a middling breeze and stays straight and balanced but going a middling pace. Gets tired late on and less organised. Hard to see him as one blasting along on Debut on the breeze and why start at 6f? ATR Video Replay starts with nearly 2F already run so Run Notes do not include the start, etc. Second slowest Final Time for 6f here since the start of 2010 and the only slower one in the overall Worst Seller of the 2012 season. Stiff pace for the Conditions with a pressing Line-of-3 when the Video starts with Marmalad 2Wd leading with Cisco Boy in Lane 1 and Sparkling Sapphire on the rail. Geordie George about 6L back which along with the Slow Final Time suggests this 6f win wasn't GG 'blasting along' and more staying on best having been geen early so getting behind and then held back to go a usable pace. |
