SUMMARY
G as on Decs. Stiff+ Easterly Wind = 3/4+ Tailwind from the Left.

Foylesideview's Breeze Video seems to show a smaller one but with ok build for has size. Problem seems to be he has a notable knee action and a busy and laboured action in front. Which leads to a straight gallop down the rail but looking slow and not likely to change much even though he looks a bit green. Left behind in this race by what point?

Very Fast Time but note the comment about an unusually stiff tailwind. On 3 x other times under 71 secs since start 2010 and two by Group 2 Richmond Stakes winners. Only other fast time this early in season by Chandlery in the equivalent Maiden in 2011. That horse went on to finish midfield in the Coventry then won the Group 2 Vintage Stakes back here over 7f. Note that two of the fastest previous times on 'Good Going' with GStick readings of 7.5 an 8.0. Looking back over the last 4 seasons the Clerk here seems incapable of calling any going 'GF'. If you stood him on the tarmacked entrance road he would probably say it was GGF. The GStick reading here was 7.4 at 07:15am but with a warm and sunny day following. Neither the Going Description nor the GStick reading ever updated closer to the Meeting start time.

Win for Jungle Cat a positive point in favour of believing the race he ran in on debut was turned into a farce by a rails bias and bad & deep ground away from it. Almost another Second String Hannon win in the race (as Chandlery was) with Sixty ridden by Barzalona who seems to be on the way out of Appleby's yard. Hughes at BATH. A core question is how good is the front of this race? Was Aledaid running up to his standard but beaten by better horses?

Update SUN] = Finding this a hard race to summarise and the main problem seems to be the mismatch between the appaent High Quality Performance of the winner and some of the circumstantials stories behind. As the laboured nature of the following text will prob suggest this is more of a 'Working Hypothesis' type of Summary rather than thinking the quality of the particpants is pretty clear.

This appeared to be something 'Different' from Jungle Cat and a strong finish and still going forward at the finish and looking comfortable. A long gap back to the 4th+ and where the ordinary Maiden winner types presumably start. A medium sized one but strongly built and well put together and notably professional here. Depending on strength of race he should be able to make the Top 6 or Top 4 in the Coventry on this. Might he be in Godophin colours by then?

Easiest to deal with Aledaid who on hyoe and reputation should be the Hannon's (main) Coventry candidate. They were apparently expecting a win here to set him up for ASCT. On debut he had travelled well through the race then made a good forward move with Dettori not that active and then allowed to fade in the last 0.5f. Which looked fine as a bigger horse needing the run to tighten up. Although, you would think that Hannon Coventry winners tend to show it FTO and win and often streak clear. But, perhaps they are taking the prep for Qatar owned horses a bit slower. Whatever, Aledaid never looking that balanced here and always offerring to hang right. When asked to make his effort inside the last 2F he made a good one again and closed up to engage JC BUT with his held held left and offerring to go right again. That effort petered out somewhat tamely in the last 1F and you might say he didn't stay. The fade looked 'wrong' compared to the original forward move. But, two similar runs and does he not stay 6f yet? still a bit 'weak' to cary his frame? or something else? Dettori appaently said after wards that Aledaid had "run out of air". The summary is that Aledaid is better than he showed here and if he and JC had finished clear of Geological together fighting it out for the win then saying this was a good Coventry trial would be easy. But, Aledaid clearly has something stopping him from finishing a race off and prob unlikely he will go to RASCT? Seems likely that Baitha Alga will be the connections' Rep instead.

The main 'problem' with the result is what is Sixty doing finishing so close and forward of the Open Maiden group having run gree, raced widest and hung across the track in the last 2f. He also had Barzalona riding with Dobbs (ridden a number of Group winners for Julie Wood) on Geological (for an 'owner' in the Carnarvon family that the Hannons seem to like to butter up). Also none of the earlier season hype about him when Hannons usually known from early season which they expect to be Coventry types. As well as being green in behaviour Sixty also not that fit and a medium and compact one although strongly built. Perhaps he surprised the Hannons as well. Inclined to take him seriously since he ran well despite lacking nous and running waywardly. Ought to 90+ on this bt check how the whole race starts working out. Has it been pinned to the wrong Quality level.

Back in 4th another Hannon runner in Geological and any horse the stable debut at GDWD has to be taken seriously for OR80+. Ran too free here and then got outpaced as the first 3 made their efforts but a solid forwad move before he started folding back. Say around 80 and not as smaller medium as the picture makes him look. Looks a galloper to some extent.

Harlequin Striker has looked a slow learner on the Channon Work Gallop VTs and off the back scrubbed along in the early ones. Still not responding quickly at times here and dropped bacto 10th before staying on. Ok for 75+ and development and presume 7f.

Probably pick out Able Mate and Maraakib as the most likely 75+ converters behind.
