SUMMARY
Soft by Race Time and still raining. GS by Noon. GSG from S on Decs but Heavy Showers forecast for the Day.

Fahey in his SL piece = "Liberty Sky runs in the opening Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Doncaster and she’s a quality filly. We wouldn’t really press the buttons too hard at home on a nice filly like this, so we don’t really know what she’s capable of, and it’s definitely possible that something could have the edge on her in terms of experience, but I like her a lot and I’m hopeful of a big run first time out."

Slow Time beacuse of a Notably Slow Pace and Assault On Rome getting an easy time in front and turning race into a 2F sprint (unlikely to suit many in field running over 6.5f at the earliest opportunity). May just have been coincidence but with field racing Centre the first 2 home racing Widest on the course and then hanging Cent-FrSd in last 1F as they duelled.

While keeping the possibility of the Centre to Far Side being better going in mind it seems a likely the four filies racing Centre to Stands' Side were the smallest 4 and least able anyway. Agadoo had shown some 'form' FTO when staying on in a slow race here on debut and outpaced here and some mild, and unappealing plugging on and not one to follow. The other three towards the Stands' Side of her as small or smaller. Hangon Harriet not one to follow on circumstantials and a small one who got outpaced and didn't see race out and might be over-rtaed even with the winner's [Est] held down by the slow time. Aqlette & Candle Of The Sea representing more plausible connections than HH but similar size to her and Agadoo and similar efforts 2f out or less good. Neither looking like 75 types and prob 60s.

Molly Approve a bit bulkier (Coyle prep typical?) but held at the back afte a slow start and had little chance of making ground but never looked likely anyway. At least check STO.

Which meant the other 4 were the most interesting fillies for the future wherever they race. Assault On Rome looking a bigger one in this group and willing but helped a lot by getting an easy lead and mid 70s of some sort. Turning Times a Godolphin 2nd string (could still be ok) but Ajtebi ridden (seems more of a negative with Appleby choosing jks for horses) and on debut for Appleby (could be green and unready on evidence in 2014 to date). Also a smaller one and not looking 75 nor one to follow on that. Having made most ground in the 2f 'sprint' at the end of the race she should be being marked up for that. But showing an above average knee action and racing widest and perhaps on better ground. Probably one to oppose on size grounds and what she actually achieved here.in a slow time. Put here in an average+ maiden over 7f on Good ground or faster and not sure what this 2nd place amounts to as a recommendation. True Course the Appleby STO so should have run better and above average size in this field. Also travelled better as the pace upped a bit before 2F out and had got to 2nd when the 2f out efforts were made. Made a similar effort to AoR initially but starting to hang left and stall before 1f out and then an early fade. Looked more like a physical issue than plain not staying.

Which means in an underwhelming race overall Liberty Sky has the most to recommend her going forward. A bigger one in the group but running too freely in the first half of the race then a bit green around Halfway. Then didn't look suited to a 2F sprint and took time to get going. Only plugging on at the finish and not a strong eyecatcher but has the size to improve and presumably will go up to 7f+ going forward. Also has improvement to make just by racing more professionally.
