SUMMARY
CHanged to S at 13:00pm after 1mm of rain and more light rain forecast. GSS at 06:30am. 21mm of rain Sat into Sun turned going Soft. Stalls Far Side and Rail Out 10m.

War Alert's Breeze VT starts with her looking Sweaty and hard to hold in the gather area. On that you would check her for how relaxed she is in the prelims and not surprised if she was too free in the race. One of the key differences it seems with Breezes is the horses don't have to race relaxed for 3F until they get to do a 1F+ blast. In the breezes they just canter a bit then are allowed to rocket off at top speed to set a time. She looks middling size with a strong front.but a bit of length and still notably Up Behind (as Blue Aegean looked in her Breeze and another problem with forcing horses to be ready to Breeze). Despite her length she does use her range well and getting her hindlegs well under her later in the breeze. Runs mostly level and straight until rolling right handed 0.5f from the end of the 2f Breeze. Seems a likeable point that she finds another kick when straight again on the rail and niggled by the rider. Should be a bigger type in PRev than Blue Aegean?

Slow Final Time more in line with SHV or worse. Why? Doc Charm beaten 9L on debut with the winner running 77.95s on official GSS FTO and that race run up the Stands' rail with a Rail Bias. DC eased in a clear 2nd place or the distance would have been less than 9L. BHA Judge uses 5L/sec for GS and slower going so that 9L is 1.8s so DC ran an eased down 79.75s on GSS FTO..

Moderate to poor quality race left by the NRs. Doc Charm a smaller one and not as well built as 2-3 others in the field. But, fit and competent and that was all that was required for a comfortable win with all the other four having issues. Given a full ride to go clear but two runs on very slow ground in slow times. Lacks much scope and not a strong Nursery candiadte off mid-70s unless he handles these going conditions notably better than the opposition.

Blackfoot Brave a short one and bulky but not looking fit here. Also running green and not appearing to handle the going until some mild plugging on late in the race. On size he looks sub-70 and not much learnt about what he could do on better going and when more knowing.

Big Mcintosh also bulkier than DC but less length and not handling the going as well as DC. Looking laboured when asked for his effort and then getting unbalanced and soon folding. See how he develops as a low level (60ish) Nurs type.

Bahango a leaner type and not as well built as DC. Seems to be going light. As with many Stubbs' 2yos he is also a regular puller and free runner. Ran much too free before halfway and an ok effort for around 1F int he final efforts before fading badly and getting unbalanced and very tired again. Another the Stubbs have to teach to race professionally and not looking like he is doing well physically at present. See how he develops.

Trainer Semple is Scottish Racing's 'Dame Nellie Melba' and has retired more times than anyone can remember. Here he is back with with a small one in Go On Chas having 'pinched' the owner from the stables that Dalgleish now resides as a salaried trainer (where Semple has had 2-3 goes over the years after sackings). GOC running competently but seemed to be blown away by bigger horses and No Interest. It would be interesting to know what the jk on GOC said to the jk on DC before 1f out after GOC had received 2 bumps from DC.
