SUMMARY
GF as on Decs. 1.4mm rain overnight but a dry day forecast. CoC reports the irrigation system is broken so there wil be no Watering during the day. Stiff- SW Wind = Half Tailwind from the Left.

Stalls Centre.

Faster time but note the fast conditions because of no watering, a warm and sunny day and a stiff tailwind

Rail well in from the widest position but not reported on the BHA page. Rail bias not obviously visible in this race. Halfway to Final positions tell some of the story with the leading line of 3 seeming to go just an average pace and persisting in the lead until into the final 1f. But fading and the first 4 home the 2R of 4 at halfway and making their way through the breaking up Lead Trio in various ways. Sulaalaat racing wide and a clear run centre track. Pack Together finding a run through between the leading line. Commandaria having to wait a bit but getting a clear run up the rail as the leaders rolled away from it as they tired.

Which left the A5 on Prize Exhibit looking like she had spent too much time watching videos of Spencer to learn how to make decisive decisions to get through a fading leading line. Ended up vaguely exploring several options, including losing out to the more decisive jk on Commandaria when the Rail Gap opened, and then PE looking to have a effort left when a gap came late. PE will no doubt go down as a General Eyecatcher (but unquantified beyond the stock phrase). 5th & 6th home were the 3R at halfway and racing Centre Track and made clear progess onto the back of the 2R at the finish. 7th & 8th two of the faders fom the Leading Trio and both hampered as fading. The trio at the back at Hf out of the race and Lady Mascot and Old Fashion NPIR.

One question to answer is why the Leading Trio broke up so much despite a usable pace. Most of the others finishing the race off in a heap and making it look like a 2F sprint. Fine Judgment prob smaller in context of field and did not really pick up 2F out nad then moving awakwardly around 1F out so her fade makes sense. Goldecrest looking a bigger filly in this group and travelling ok inside 2F out until asked for her effort 1F+ out. Went through race up to that point with her head to the right and offerring to hang left. Hard to know whether she was being held because running too free or against the hanging. Jk waited to ask for full effort prob knowing she would 'let go' and hang left as soon as he did and she did. But an ok effort overall int he last 2F an inclined to think she is an ok 75+ one who just got tired late.

Trainer James Tate has ahd a good start to his career in the previous 2 seasons. Unlike some trainers he also seems to have a discernable Method. Debut wins are rare but the competitive 2yos usually make the 3rd-6th range depending upon field size and quality. In 2013 the SP on debut did seem to have some correlation to FTO performance and overall season ability. Superlative talked up by the trainer in earlier season and favourite here with Fallon on. Ran a bit green at times and a bit hesistant in the last 2F. Still 3rd 1f out but then stalling and hampered as the 2R going through went by her on either side. A good quality filly getting tired int he last 1F having run a bit green and then not enjoying being bumped around and finishing further back than she should? Or an overhyped one? Check size.

Pack Together a FTO by Hannon for an owner they normally over-prepare FTO for (Yes, Ma'am). Seems a lightly made Maiden Winner type and not much scope to go higher.

Sulaalaat an above average debut performance for a Meehan 2yo and bigger and bulkier tah PT. Appeals as an 80+ one and not one to oppose lightly at Open Maiden level.

Commandaria a smaller medium one and a touch narrow and needing ok movement to make the best of what power she has. Got a good ride with jk waiting until gap on rail appeared (with the leader always offering to hang left this had to appear) and shortest route home. A bit below Open Maiden level on build and check strength of race STO rather than expect her to be a certain converter.

How close Prize Exhibit finished a bit of a downside for the actual form level. Ridden by an A5 who took ages to find a gap from 2R forward. One to check how she goes STO especially with the 'Eyecatcher' tag likely to shorten the price a bit.

Hollie Point a smaller Dubawi type and lacking some power behind. Racing wide throughout and a bit green. But another not looking a certain OR75+ type in a somewhat messy race.

Trainer Lanigan's record and MO with 2yos a negative for Terse and a smaller but ok bulk one that did not look ready in fitness nor attitude. Below Open Maiden level and her price seems a fair bit of breeding potential premium.

Fillies in 7th to 9th more interesting going forward that most of the 66-74 types who made up a lot of the front at the finish. Superlative came with some hype surrounding her and a taller one in context of field but just middling build. Ran better than the final results suggests and should be 75+ but didn't look a better type in PRev here.

Goldcrest a bigger type in the field and a bit lightly made behind. Ought to be solid 75+.

Lady Mascot porbably the most interesting STO with this unplaced run to her name. Hannon put her up as his 'Bargain Buy' in 214 and PRev showd a smaller medium one but ok depth and power. Jk Quinn on her and rarely used by the Hannons. Seemed to be given a spectacularly non-involving ride and should be one occasion where a long SP on debut (at a lesser track) doesn't mean a duff one for the stable. One to follow STO to see what the set-up is.
