GFG from G on Decs. Stalls Centre. Note the possibility of a Track bias with those racing Centre and Wider finishing better and a couple of earlyish fades on the Stands' Side of the group. Average pace for the intermediate distance but pace picked up by Estidhkaar before 2f out. Quickly chased and engaged by Mustadeem with that one's jk initially switching to make later effot stands' side but switched back as he saw Estidhkaar leading towards centre and the only likely danger. That pair looked like two 90+ going clear as they duelled away and you would expect them both to try Group level. Estidhkaar talked about as a possible July Stakes runner by Hannon. He is a bulky medium one and stronger than Alhebayeb who the stable have won the race with for the same owner (worth noting that horse has looked like the late 80s to low 90s horse as a 3yo and lacked scope). Overall preference for the bigger Mustadeem going forward and a bit more scope and a likeable type. Long gap back to another solid FTO for Cox with Laidback Romeo racinfg furthest centre overall. 75+ one and left behind by better class ones. St Brelades Bay another 75+ one and ought to be ok for 80. Ran too free here so hauled abk and then hanging left in the last 2F+ and struggling to make a solid and concerted final effort. Might have been helped by hanging by ending up on a faster strip when he eventually showed enough forward kick to get to 4th before Hughes eased him. Things that need fixing and not lived up to the good words about him in ealier season. Flying Machine a smaller medium one by Kodiac but strongly enough built. Around 75 but has now run in three maidens without winning. The case for the defence is that he hasn't put a full race together in the last 2 goes. Not handling RIPN at all and then running too free in the lead here. An earlyish fade and perhaps running on the slower ground. How much slack would you want to cut him 4TO? Hawkmeister & Fitzwilliam late 60s poss leak 70 types and Fitzwilliam perhaps the more usable. No interest in the final 3 home which leaves Grigolo as another bigger lad for MaJo taking a less than smooth progression to start his career. Wild in the prelims on debut and better here but still not relaxed and professional. One of those racing stands' side in the last 3F+ and perhaps a disadvantage and an earlyish fade after a solid effort. Should be ok for 70+ and appeals as a 7f+ developer for thhe trainer. |
