SUMMARY
GSG by Race Time. GGS from GSS on Decs. 1mm rain 06:00am and light rain forecast for the day.

Hard to make any sense of the whether the race is over the advertised distance or not. This is the CoC report = "The home and back straight are at the widest position Distances as advertised. The bottom bend moved in 1 metre The Stands bend moved out 1 metre" . This race only uses the 'Bottom Bend' so we then have the problem of whether "moved in 1 metre" means further out or fully in.

Mixed bag of shapes and sizes. Three Merry Lads typical MaJo and looking a bit rangy and a galloper. On the downside he looks a bit narrow bodied and gawky rather than 'big & boaty'. Needs to develop a bit and fill out if he can do. Ran a bit free very early to establish a lead ont he rail but soom settled down and able to dictate a slow pace. A bit green and ears pricked & minor wandering inside the 3f out mark when niggled to up the pace. With the race turing into a less than 2F sprint he took a bit of time to get going and outspeeded by a readier type. Ought to be 70+ but not looking full Open Maiden level. Can improve for being more knowing and you would think he would look better setting a faster pace rather than a slow one to a late race sprint.

Jumeirah Glory a different type to TML. A smaller medium one with less body length and a shorter strong neck (unlike the gawky, slightly weak one on TML). Also bulkier and looking a more ready type. A slow start and took time to find a gap to make his challenge but always holding TML having made a more immediate final effort. Size a niggle on whether he can get much beyond 75. Needs checking.

Forgiving Glance a small one in the field and underpowered but neat and ready shape. Got a comfortable time in second until blown away by the final efforts. Even a volunteer 3rd here overplaying FG's ability and not one to be interested in.

Star Ascending a bit bigger than FG and more length and range. But looking raw and lightly built and just a lightly made 'frame' at present. Prob usable 60s if he develops but that would probably take some time if it does. Another 2yo on the day to look uncomfortable on the loose ground and not picking up later on in the race. Gangly nature and being a bit weak not helping.

Battleranger a bit more bulk and size that FG/SA on that basis should have finished in 3rd in the gap between the duelling leaders and the other pair. Jk seemed to have some agenda other than getting involved with the race and hard to judge whether that was teaching to settle, a Quiet Intro for nurseries or something else. Made more difficult because the horse travelled ok in the HS but unable to pick up on the ground and getting unbalanced. No response to a couple of whip slaps (which might have been air shots for show) and then eased early and still finishing with the other two. Has more ability than he hinted at here and follow development..
