SUMMARY
GGF by Race Time. G from GSG on Decs. Stalls Far Side.

Fahey in his SL piece "We’re having a go at the Maiden Stakes with five runners! Intwin ran a cracking race behind a good horse in Red Icon on his Haydock debut and looks to have a very big chance here. That said, Winstanley has run twice and shown ability on both occasions. Stepping up in trip will help him and there may not be that much between the two. The owners were keen to run Birkdale Boy who should have come on for his debut but may be more of a nursery type. Bonds Choice is another who will be going down the handicap route at some stage but has run here twice before and did shape well on debut. Super Quick is a nice filly by Rip Van Winkle who makes her debut. She’s ready to race now but may do better in time and over seven furlongs.".

North Bay Lady a smaller one in her breeze and lighter build with some range (Fast Company getting more of the lighter build and range/movement ones?). Does a terrible breeze because too green. Jinks sharply left and right in quick succession at the start and the rider does ok to stay on. Always pricking ears and then veering left in the 2nd 1f of the breeze. Sold privately for £9,500 after initially retained for £10,000 and presumably the underbiddder offerred what they had bid. Hard to see her being much more knowing FTO.

Field raced Centre then Cent-Stds Later. Average Pace at most and first 7 at Halfway within 1.25L of the lead. Race turned into a 1.5f+ Sprint and not much change in the relative positons and nothing doing anything to separate themselves. Probably in line with Middling+ but competitive group on Profile. Pipe Bomb as big as Pallister and probably better built. Faded late to hide the fact he made a similar effort to the leader until fading. Seems an ok propsect on that.

Speedy Move 4th in a very Slow Time and suspect NMKJ maiden FTO and his effort here in dropping out of the top 6 off this pace suggests it is correct be wary of how to interpret race 128.

Unconvinced that Bonds Choice & Super Quick are real Open Maiden winner types and competing closely the way the race unfolded.

Birkdale Boy comfirming the view of him a 7f+ galloper and development project for nurseries. Has the size to compete around 70. Niggles here in stil being green and sweaty. Then getting unbalanced later in the race before the fade. Needs a slower pace race.
