GGF as on Dec. 2-5mm watering Thu & 5-10mm Sat. Rail Out CoC quote = "There is a false rail in place, approximately 15feet out from the permanent inside rail. This rails add approximately 12yds to the distance of all races." That has to be a bit embarrassing for Fahey even with his studied i'm-just-a-simple-guy-i'm-as-surprised-as-anyone routine. Lacing here to break her maiden for Cheveley Park and all those links between Stud & Fahey via Mayson and owner Armstrong. Ryan Moore riding fresh from winning the jockey's title after 5 days at Royal Ascot. The Stud's Chris Richardson presumably much too refined a chap to ask Fahey what the blinking hell he was doing putting Bimbo in the race. But, an average pace and all the fillies seemed to have their chance and the best horse appeared to win. Bimbo wearing a Hood for debut and ridden by the stable's A3 (who rode their only RASCT winner of the previous week). Which sounds like a lesser one just getting started as 3rd string behind Lacing & the Hamilton ridden Elevator Action and also drawn widest. But, at least as big as Lacing and a touch more length and perhaps build. Bimbo running further widest and making her main effort wide on the bend to the HS. Able to produce an extended effort off that the wear the two 'form' fillies down. Fair enough and perhaps the hood meant she has been a bit wayward so far and the stable not expecting her to show her full ability. 70s, at least. Lady Moscou Fallon ridden so the A3 presumably wasn't outriding the other pair. LM looking solid 75ish level FTO if a bit leggy and plain. But less build than either of Lacing and Bimbo here and travelling less well before 2F out and plugging on back at the finish having dropped to 3rd. Mid-70s of some sort and need 7f? Lacing back from a long break when looking promising having got behind in a mixed ability maiden. But, that race has produced 'enough' winners to suggest she was shwoing 70s form in her later race promise. But, smaller relatively here as the season progresses. Also ran too free int he first half of the race. Travelled ok 2f out and took the lead up ok but little extra kick when asked for a final effort. Fading late on like a non stayer on the day. Perhaps she needed the run but looking just 70s and the clock perhaps ticking for a real 75 type win. Gap back from the front 3 to two smaller medium fillies on debut who got outpaced by the first 3 and just plugged on until fading. Neither Caius College Girl nor Multi Grain looking open maiden prospects but usable 60s of some sort with that level of later race effort & power. Mistress Makfi a smaller one with some build upside but a bit green here then outpaced by 2f out, Got from Last to a distant 7th in the HS with some mild plugging on. Presume she will be up in distance again 3TO and lower 60s? Poor effort from Rose Of Kiev and never going forward nor looking willing. Poor attitude not an issue before and this looked more like a filly who was feeling something protecting herself. Unbalanced at various point as well. Terse showing more than 9th suggests but looking like one the trainer is grooming for a Nursery off OR50s. Lost 5L at the start but got back to 3R on the rail fine and an okish effort 2F out. But a strong fade inside the last 1f with no jk activity. Prob smaller and a bit underpowered and see what the OR mark looks like 4TO. |
