SUMMARY
Pace 0 is for the rest of the field with Foylesideview running too freely in the lead again and responding to being vaguely joined by AJ after 2f by going more freely and pulling 2L+ clear at times.

Blame Love looking a Medium sized one with a good build and ok length in his Breeze gather. Solid 75+ on strength & set-up. Does the breeze with a Dark Angel colt (ex Mary Spring Rice) who was withdrawn from the sale after the breeze and as yet un-named. BL initially takes lead from the other but then pair go along upsides. BL with the rangier action and able to go the other's pace comfortably and then wear the other one down and finish the breeze off fully going away.

[Summary post VRev & before VP available] Not 75 form at the front and pace overall holding level down a bit. After watching the video a few times a couple of overall impressions. Firstly, that if any of the first 4 had been in training with Hannon since yearlings then it would probably have won this (if it hadn't already broken it's maiden). Secondly that the first 2 home are well matched sub-75 but 69-72 types and there are probably higher career raters behind them. A day when the question that HOTH posed about 'Fit Now Ones' versus 'Bigger less Ready one' came down on the side of the smaller ones, assisted by a technical track to some extent.

L'Etacq perhaps the smallest in the field and not that well made. Hanon has already tried him in an auction race and beaten him with his own 'bigger one'. Drop him to an AW maiden and have a jk on who gets the most out of the horse in the typical Hannon jks quiet & efficient style and L'Etacq manages a Maiden win. But only just and hard to see what else he can win unless he develops.

Anonymous John a bit bigger than L'Etacq but not full Open Maiden size. Had to do a bit more work than the winner to get to a stalking position and handled the bend to the HS less well. Sub-75 and needs to find a weak maiden before nurseries.

Big Chill on a 'second debut' to some extent having had a long break from never getting involved FTO. The other Hills' runner who made his debut in the DONC race also reappeared recently and had a very quiet race in a non involved 2nd. BC held back to the rear int his race and looking like another Educ Re-Intro run. But, a bit bigger than the first two and looking like he might close onto them in the last 1F running towards centre track. But persistently hanging left behind the duelling pair of smaller ones and the jk gave up in the last 0.5f. Probably is 75+ and Hills bringing him along slowly and probably only wanted a 'nice' restart here.

Sportlobster probably a similar type to the first two home and seemed to have grown a bit in the 2+ months since his last run. Kingscote great at getting 2yos out of the stalls briskly and did so here. But, that seemed to grate terribly against the script he was working to which seemed to be a 'Very Quiet Ride' on 3TO to get him fit and ready for an early Nursery. So, we has the unedifying sight of the jk having to haul him right towards the back from leading. Then quiet progress int he HS until nicking 4th on the line from the jk who had eased Blame Love. Niggle over Sportlobster running Head Up in the last 2F but check his size now and prospects for nurseries.

Blame Love a typical MaJo debut in many ways. Looking a bigger one in the group but also looking a bit clueless. Cumbersome at various points especially on the downhill. Enough about him to get into the race on the bend to the HS but then looking like a stayer with a plugging on effort. But, hard to know whether he would look speedy enough for 6f STO when he turns into a free running pacesetter or really needs 7f+. But another who ought to be 75+ and better than the first 2 home in the fullness.

Foylesideview still a sweaty nutcase who runs too freely but still finds some kick before a fade, even at 6f. Usable 60s if he ever settles down.

Varian debuts normally are ready to show ability if they have it and several circumstantials saying this was a lesser one. Mitchell riding & not Atzeni or a 'Top' jk and longer SP. Rashash definitely utterly clueless and hard to tell in the cloud of green around him whether his attitude might be a bit suspect as well. Check whether he has the size to be troublesome if his mental side comes together at some point.

A few Post-VP thoughts. L'Etacq smallish as expected but stronger, especially front, and looker more together & neat than his GDWD picture. say 73-4. Anonymous John neat and ok build and look unremarkable & fine. Lo 70s. Big Chill probably not as big as the coiled prance and white mark flashiness makes him look. But a couple of sizes bigger than L'Etacq & seemd to carry himself ok. Ok for 75+ say up to 78? Sportlobster looking too long, shallow bodied & lacking some build. Less good than the Dark silhouette on the VRev suggested. Back on the 'No Interest' list. Blme Love looking less tall than expected but neat enough and solidly built. 75-6?. Foylesideview not sweaty & mostly under control. Ought to try saddling late in the Stables then whisk him through the Parade Ring once and straight out TP early. Prob looks bigger than he is because walking closer to the camera ("No Dougal, these cows are very small, those cows are far away..."). Rashash mulish in demeanour, too round behind and a bit narrow? Some strength but would need to have shown something in a race to be more interested & hard to see PRev NTO changing that view.
