SUMMARY
GFG as on Decs. 20mm of watering over the preceding 4 days.

Rail Out CoC quote = "Inner of Straight dolled out 18yds at 6f and 9yds at the Winning Post.".

Ragged and Ugly race in VRev and left the impression that it was a Moderate field and race. Raggedness not helped by the rail being so far out so they are racing Centre to Far Side and narrow strip in the HS. Also by the loose surface which had two of the field staggering around before 1f out. Another runner miles adrift from early able to catch up to that wallowing pair.

Race Shape difficult to 'read' with a Leading Line of 5 forming up early but not appearing to press the pace that much although all 5 running too freely to various extents. That Lo5 breaking up in the second half of the race, again for various reasons and the one who did best had dropped to 2R before Hf. None of that 5 finishing the race off fully which allowed the smaller looking and not straight moving Louie De Palma to close up to them and going away at the finish. Despite looking mentally young to add to lacking power and smooth movement. Would expect the VP to show a mixed bag and likely none of them real 75s.

[Post VP Thoughts] Louie De Palma short and small frame as expected but solid build and neatly made. Dam has turned out 2 x 80+ ones who were short and bulky but not as small as LDP. 60s type leaking to 70? Arthur Martinleake another small one (picture making him look a bit bigger than he is as he stretches neck & wrestles with the handler?). 60s of some sort & competent.

Guilty looking mentally green in the picture and perhaps narow bodied. Not looking bulky or powerful. Low to mid 60s? Compare Field Game to LDP (both by Patoral Pursuits) & FG a bit more size but not looikng as compelte & 'now' as LDP. Seems ok for 70+ but check how develops STO. Movement ok?

Jargon a disappointment in the picture & a lesson learned. Look at one of his work videos linked to from trainer Bell's website and in his last he appears to be going comfortably best in a trio (& upped the Prf). But that 'comfort' needs to be judged against some Absolute reference (Speed over the Distance, etc, or Paddock Review as here). He may be going well against garbage. A smaller one that the sire often gets but not the deep, compact & strong sprinter type. A bit underpowered and 'so what' response to the picture. Below 75 by how far? Presume hw will drop back to 5f STO?

Akavit presumably smaller and compact but ok body depth. But looking a bit too compact in the body. Pedigree says more a 7f+ developer but doesn't look that shape. Too green or poor attitude to keep up here anyway and presumably will be brought along slowly as a development project. What distance does he end up at?

Blackasyourhat sold for just £1,500 at the Brightwells Breeze Sale at ASCT which is 'get rid' money. A check on his Video shows a small and compact one who does a onepaced Breeze and gets tired early. But moves straight and looks balanced. More than £1,500 shown. On PRev here he seems to have grown a bit and fine in a small field here. Low 60s perhaps but niggles in what are the boots in front for? Also, as in the breeze, he got tired and stopping early and with 6f to go here was tired and moving awkwardly after 5f. Something more wrong known at the sale?

Meanwhile, Goldslinger went to a swankier sale and cost 62,000gns but not any bigger. Stronger front and unconvincing from the middle back. Green, and another getting so unbalanced and to raise questions. Even given the trainer likes to briing 2yos along slowly and then work through handicaps Goldslinger looking a poor use of the money.
