GF as on Decs. Rail out on the Bottom Bend but no amount given but CoC says it "..increases Race Distance by 19 yards.."' For background some bits from the Sales Blurb for Yukos Flyer on the MPR Website = "This filly is our cheapest yearling purchase of 2013, but she might look like a very wise purchase come middle of the turf season 2014. This filly stood out in the parade ring to Nick Bradley and Robin O Ryan in their pursuit of buying sharp early horses to run as 2yos in 2014........This filly is close coupled and looks the type to be out sooner rather than later as a 2yo. She was bought from the Tattersalls Book 3 sale, which is a sale which sells the horse's with the lesser pedigrees. The dam has only produced one winner to date, but she hasn't been to the best of stallions and some of her progeny weren't given long to prove themselves on the racecourse....This horse would suit owners who live in the north of England who want a sharp early 2yo who will target races such as the Super Sprint, the Doncaster Sales Race and the Weatherbys race at Doncaster. " The Halfway to Final Positions speak to a race with very little change in places or relative distances. More than a hint of "triers at the front, non-triers at the back" about the line up from early. Special Venture getting a very soft time in front and giving the biggest horse in the race a head start and a pace of his choosing will usually offset any differences in weights, as in this auction event. Only Our Kylie ridden to try to compete with SV & even Flatcapper held back by 2L+ on the rail in 3rd. Mistral getting caught in no-horse's land when making a bit of forward progress from the held back 5 on the bottom bend. Race not quite as devoid of overtaking as a Monaco GP with the small Tantric Lady racing wide througout making a real effort in the HS to get to 6th but then failing to stay & fading back to the last place she started from. Weak race on Profile and the three with some form having a private race and Special Venture backing up the promise of his debut. Did not handle RIPN STO & also found trouble. Looking professional here & around 70. Out Kylie oddly shaped but seemed a trier here. Running to her level & not quite getting home. Low 60s? Flatcapper lesser type than SV and lacking pace 3f out and just plugging on in his own time. Will need to find a moderate race that falls right for him rather being able to 'take' a race. Small ones behind with 2-3 smaller than TLady & no obvious Interest. . Sparkle Girl ridden as if attitude an issue. Electric too green and seemed to lack pace even here. Mistral a bit free to Hf & tried hard in the HS but too small & underpowered. Tantric Lady a bit bigger than average int he last group but ridden as if to teach-to-settle then allowed to pull forward on the bend. Only a brief effort in the HS before getting unbalanced & tired. Easy target but worth noting that Yukos Flyer starting at 7.5f on June 24th clearly wasn't the plan for a small one bought as an 'early 2yo' who would be targeted at races like the 'Supersprint'. Not apparent what the plan was here other than to not get involved. But, still small. Also worth noting one of the various inconsistencies int he Slaes Blurb. While it's true that the TO3 sale has more 'lesser pedigrees' in it the Sales companies do a lot of physical inspection to grade 1yos to the right sale. Which meant YF had failed to get into several other preceding sales, with stronger Markets & catalouging around 4,000 x 1yos in total, on physical issues rather than it 'just' being down to her most 'umble upbringing. |
