GFF as on Decs. 5mm Watering Overnight. Rail fully in. Notably weak race on profile and one of a range in recent days. Feeling that as the number of races per day ramps up the population of active racehorses too low to keep the standards up. Plenty of opportunities to 'duck & dive' with a lower quality horse as Richard Hughes termed it when asked about a training career. He said he wouldn't want to train in Ireland because these lower level opportunities are much less. Dream Approval a tall one in this field if narrow bodied. In good condition and well prepared by a younger trainer who seems competent to 'Know how to win' with the right material. Note he moved to Lambourn over the 2013-14 winter. DA just having to run competently and produce a low level & sustained effort for a clear win. Handled the downhill best. Upper 50s type? Dale Gibson in the ATR studios suggesting DA might get RP68ish and be competitive in an 'early nursery' on that. Not a fan of that level for DA but the recent days a useful reminder of how many 'weak races' there are to make hard-&-fast OR prediction levels a bit blurry. No real interest in any of the others. Jimmy's Hall retained at the Goresbridge Breeze Sales in Ireland in May. Lokking neat in his stable picture but probably small. A bit more build in this field but not handling the course that well and not picking up in the last 1f. Support to favourite here perhaps based on not much more than less 'convictions' than the other. Hoping for a FTO win from a lesser one from Moore's yard not a profitable strategy. |
