SUMMARY
GFF from FGF on decs. 8mm watering each day Thu-Fri & Mon-Tue. GStick Reading the Firmest it has been than any in 2012-13. A light+ Wind but also a rare Direct Tailwind.

Hughes riding One Moment for Cowell & leaving Dobbs to ride Hannon's Piping Dream. Moore riding Prize Exhibit.

A longer priced winner and probably correct to split the reason into the winner being better than the Profile but assisted to victory by a number of others underperforming. Also assisted by getting a comfortable lead in fast conditions and only the first 4 through Halfway ought to have been in the race at the finish with the 3R jks sitting motionless, for different reasons, while the leading 4 increased their gap back before Hf. With two of the leading 4 not finishing the race off at all and another moving awkwardly late on Indaria mostly just having to run her race to win. That all leaves out what Prize Exhibit is doing getting from 7th to 2nd.

But, before the litany of excuses first some praise and credit to Indaria.Looking small on debut and running freely and only a mild 2f out effort before an early fade. But, on GSS going. Still smaller here but looking a strong type of the sire and a neatly made sprinter with a fast action. Also looking happy on the GFF and skipping along.Presume 70+ without being full 75?

Indaria also a more general lesson. Look at trainer Millman's record with STO recent (data link) and profits backing them all in each of 2009-12. Which meant he was part of some 'System Following' trials in 2013 that went poorly with a lot of previously profitable seams producing losses. Which knocked confidence in that approach if the 'patience' was ever there at all. Millman's record with STO's in 2014 is now 3 from 4 with the other a 4th in in Listed race by a FTO winner. Several lessons overall about thinking long term and so.

Talking about lack of long term thinking and patience we turn to Prize Exhibit. Folloing her odds-on defeat trainer Osborne re-Tweeted a number of vitriolic messages he had received for letting her run at all and how HE had ruined their bet-of-the-decade, 6 horse accumulator, and so on. Entirely on Osborne's side in this in that if he thought she hadn't boiled over when loose TP then let her run. Anyone can then decide what to do with that new information. The Tweeters need to work on getting the right approach and mindset to bet rather than blaming something external for any setback.

Whatever, PEx a small one but seemed to come with a reputation FTO and the App jk couldn't get the job done. Moore riding here and having fallen off on being released onto the track then found himself at the back after a slow start. Then taken further out of the race when the 3R did a bit of 'NTO riding' mid-race. Made some ground in the CZ and produced the best effor tint he last 2F, but unable to overhaul Indaria who had a soft time. PEx presumably 75+ without looking it but how much above that. Worth noting that PEx achieved what she did despite looking unbalanced at times and prob one of many not liking the Firm ground.

Zifena bigger than Indaria and running a similar race. Able to get from 2R to be just overlapping the winner but looking uncomfortable on the going in the last 1f and hanging and eased late. Looks ok to be around 75.

Piping Dream a smaller one and the Hannon jks sidestepping her for other rides suggested a sub-75 one. Given a non0involving ride and see what the BP says.

Lady In White a tearaway FTO and at a longer SP here which felt a bit odd. But, that made more sense in that she was clearly here just as a Education Outing. Hooded FT and a slow start and buried away on the rail as early as possible. Some sort of Teach-to-Settle run. Not asked much int he last 2f and not looking comfortable in the Hood or on GFF.

True Course dropped to a fast 5f having been stepped up for 6f to 6.5f STO and not appearing to stay. Running ok in 2R here but never looking comfortable and a lesser effort 3f out before dropping back. Presume can do better - if the Appleby runners show they can last much beyond STO in usable form.

One Moment running freely in front pair and another to not pick up in the last 2f as expected and Hughes easing her early. Presume another GFF issue?

[Update 26/6 ] A couple of snippets from the VP report from HughOTH. As well as looking uncomfortable on the going and in headgear Lady In White also sullen & slouching in the Prelims. Entirely different from the Fizzy nature on debut. A lot not right on the day and a run to discount if she looks better in PRev 3TO.

Osborne on the phone while Prize Exhibit loose and assuring someone that PE was so fast it wouldn't matter. Owners later heard moaning because they had been told PS was a certainty.
