GFF from FGF on decs. 8mm watering each day Thu-Fri & Mon-Tue. GStick Reading the Firmest it has been than any in 2012-13.Sixty's win here at the last meeting on similar GStick reading and with a similar tailwind effect (73.68secs). A light+ Wind but also a rare Direct Tailwind. Interesting Breeze Video for Francis Scott Key (named after the man who wrote the poem from which the words to the 'Star Spangled Banner' were taken. The poem written in 1814 having watched the British ships bombarding Fort McHenry). Bred by owner Rosen out of a very expensive dam he bought who was a poor racehorse. Tried to get rid of her at 3yo but perhaps couldn't accept the overall loss. So digging in deeper into the 'Hole' and keeping her to breed from. Couldn't part with FSK at the Breeze either unless he was actually sold but returned for some reason. On the Video FSK not the bulky, deep & stong type that have done well for his FS sire so far. Looking smaller side of medium and medium build at best. Looking a bit fillyish. But, balanced set-up and seems to have a faster & fluent enough action that should work fine. But, very green in the video & a fascinating section coming up to the 1f pole. Spends a period before with his ears back listening? to the rider who then vaguely niggles him to go faster at the 1f pole and his ear shoot forward and he jinks left & rider just in self preservation mode. Ears pricked & not going forward mostly after that. Lacks some power but seems to use what he has ok but likely to still be green. [Aside - since people like watching this sort of thing how about a TV show called 'Failure & Recrimination'. The 3-way debriefs between horse preparer, rider & Vendor after this sort of Breeze would make a whole Episode on it's own.] Notably slow pace to Halfway but partly off-set by the pace picking up soon after Hf. |
