SUMMARY
GFG from GFF on Decs. 9-11mm of Watering 'since Mon'.

Trainer Palmer interviewed after the race and said Aktabantay had idled in front and still a bit babyish/ Might need more racing to learn before stepping him up to the level they think he can compete at. Said he would go to 7f+ in future and entered for the 7f Group races like the Champagne & the Dewhurst. Said he would like to think the horse would be a 2,000 Guineas possible next year. Said that the horse had a high climbing action if front and "part of the reason for coming here". Presumably he means an uphill track. Said given the action he might be better with some give in the going but but did not see why the horse shouldn't be ok of fastish ground. Said that Aktabantay would need to handle that going for a Guineas. Palmer visibly relieved and clearly taking this opportunity very seriously.

Slow Pace and not much more than a 1.5F Sprint tacked onto the end. Time slower than the following Maiden. 4 of the field hanging left in the last 2F.

Aktabantay not that much bigger frame in group but bulkier and more quality. We learnt that he will settle now and that he has a turn of pace which will drop handicappers comfortably enough. A pity he ran green in front and didn't show if he had the kick to go a further 2-3L clear without strong effort.

Geordie George getting a very Soft Lead and along with the winner the only one to run mostly straight in the last 2f. Lack of pace meant he dropped to 4th in the Sprint but not fading and staying on got him back to 2nd late on. Not a lot learned about him other than he might stay further and that there are a lot of horses that could beat him in a short sprint.

Vimy Ridge & Sea Wolf in the same race together again but both looking like 70s types marking time until they can get into Nurseries. Both lacking build and set-up quality compared to Aktabantay. Sea Wolf going like the speedier horse int he sprint but not seeing out the last 1f. Vimy Ridge enough kick to get past GG but always offerring to go left and stalling back to 4th as he did and never got balanced enough to see if he could respond. Has never looked a real speed horse and presume he will get OR80+ and will need to devlop physically to mmake that work.

Just The Tip the smallest and another very fit Dalgleish one and running too free. Blown away in the sprint and then hanging. A bit more size & promise from Dominada, Able to make some progress before 2F out and then make some forward effort before hanging and losing ground. A raw and unfit looking one in line with trainer typical FTOs but has some scope so see how she develops.
