GFF from GF on Decs. 12mm of Watering up to Tue. Light Rain falling at 07:00am and forecast to continue as showers through the day. Temp only 13DegC and a Medium ENE Wind and close to a Direct Tailwind. Slightly confusing race and soem PRev needed to clarify. Time not fast and winner probably barely 75. Haflway to Final postions might suggest a strong pace with the prominent runners fading. Looked the opposite of that with the first three through halfway running in a trio from+1f and all pulling too hard. The two hardest pullers fading well back. Check whether just coincidence the first 3 home were racing on the same strip Cent-Stds in last 2f+. Fruity a negative in PRev on debut and looking small in that group and underdone. Nearly a month's break from that and looking better here. Still smaller but in better condition and a bit more muscle and a willing attitude. Settled in 2R behind the pullers and best placed to spring to the lead as they faded. A solid effort and improved to 74-5? Or misread? Shahah another debut for Hannon, Al Thani (J) & Dettori who was a little green and held out of the race by Dettori. Which meant her solid effort only got her to 2nd before the typical final 0.5f fade. around 2L behind Fruity at Hf then taking longer to pick up 2F because green then making some gound on her before the fade. Another 70s one probably and not looking bigger kit. Worth noting it seems like it will need a really superior one for Dettori to get a FTO win the way he rides these owner's FTOs. Encore L'Amour perhaps a bit moe bulk than the other two and got behind because of being green then taking a long time to get going. Did more than pick off faders to get to 3rd and inclined tyo ignore the SP level and assume she is ok for 75 level. Mixed story for Shahralasal who did best of the 3 x pullers but stalling & fading early. This written after the Filly she was 2nd to on debut won a 6f Listed race. Inclined to view that she is a neat but smallish one who showed all she could FTO and isn't 75 level. Looked least well built of the 3 pullers for eg. The filly she beat almost certainly didn't have to improve much, if at all, to win a weak Listed race against a set of small & ready fillies. Hollie Point ran a bit better than 6th but seemed to confirm the view she is sub 75 and unlikely to win an average Open Maiden. More interest in Simple Elegance who looked bigger and a better overall effort despite being green. 70+ and needs check for 75+. Angel Wings another hard to judge in VRev. Just a medium one in the group and looked to be going ok-2f but then hanging left too much to make a full effort. Question mark over her level? Summer Stroll claimed out of a seller and doing that with Hannon 2yos rarely wortwhile. Smallest and overpowered early here and in the wrong race. Alderaan bulkier but running too freely and no from her last poor run overall. Some interest in Ryedale Mist going forward since this result will look dreadful on the pace in the Form Book. Sweating and running miles too freely and some brief forward effort ok given that. Looking quite strongly built running alongside the neat (but slightly 'Toy') Shahralasal. On the list as one to check for a 'Surprise' better performance sometime as she develops. |
