SUMMARY
Poor race on Profile and depending greatly on what Polarisation looked like for any 60s or higher level. As it turned out 'Poor Race' probably over-selling the event. A terrible race for a £3,396 Penalty Value to the winner Open Maiden backed by the EBF.

Spindle small but neatly made and professional attitude and moves straight. But even trying to write '55' next to her has the 'Gut Feeling' rumbling away (because surely she's too small for that). But, let's call her a professional, make the most of herself, 55 for argument's sake. That made her the 'Class' of this race. Ran a competent race and stuck at in running straight down the centre in the HS. Slow time but she seems to have been targetted as a Fibresand specialist and there will be a lot of weak handicaps for her at SWEL over the winter.

Mixed story for Polarisation. A smaller one but bigger than Spindle (not hard) but quite lengthy. In very good condition and bright attitude (at a time when MaJo 2yos are running very well as a group). BUT, that length of the body seems to include a dip back and he is still very up behind. Is he going to be able to move himself? In the race other problems show up and he has a wide and splayed action in front. When Spindle ups the pace in the HS (relatively, still slow in absolute terms) it shows up how slow Polaristion is with his long body and also highlights his knee action. The little neat filly plain too fast for him. Polaristion then starts hanging left in the last 2f as his mix of 'spare parts' welded together finds it all a bit too much.

The other three are beyond parody. Theydon Thunder small but reasonably neat if not fit and could aspire to be a 50 version of Spindle. Straight legged in the walk and appearing to lack any range though. Clearly not that tightly wrapped. Ridden in the Parade Ring for some reason. Then stopped well short of the stalls TP and spent some time walking in circles backwards and clearly mentally away somewhere else like he had been at the Medicine Cabinet. Kept up for a while in the race.

Forgiving Glance very small and comapct with it. A bit leggy and weak in front. Underpowered and nothing really working together.

Capitaine retained for £1,500 as a yearling and clearly an exhorbitant amount. Small to tiny and too compact. Deep bodied but not looking like 'strength' and just a stodgy square. Even at the walk he lacks athleticism to move properly and you wonder what will happen in the race. Dropped by the other 'athletic tigers' as soon as the stalls opened. Oh Dear.
