SUMMARY
182nd Slowest Time for a juvenile 7f race out of 188 since the AW Course opened in 2006. What was going on to get a 4L winner?

Panda Spirit looking a 70s type in PRev and while the connections might mean she leaks 80s is that an under-rating? Talk it up one way and you could say PS a clear winner on STO and Stoute will surely try Listed+ with her now. On the downside view you would say she got a laughably easy time in the leading pair and in a very slow time. She saw off Red Perdita who is smaller and ran a bit more freely. RP has not recorded even an OR50s level effort in her first two races. Behind there were 2-3 fillies who made comparable forward efforts to PS but starting from further back and some not knowing enough to pick-up to order.

Since Stoute has had just 6 x Nursery runs (from 5 horses with 2 wins) in 2012-13 then where PS goes next should be informative. Inclined to think Moore riding her out fully here was to test her out and she will probably fit on a borderline for Stoute's thinking. May well try Listed & Nursery. Which order? Always worth reminded yourself at these times that many 2yo Listed races are just 80s nurseries but off level weights.

In a 'plain' field overall Arethusa another slightly odd shaped one by new sire Rip Vin Winkle. Despite the 'plain' looks the 8 to have run so far for RVW have run solidly on debut and two have won (FTO/STO). Arethusa had the advantage of running settled ont he rail but took a little time to find a run 2F out. Once she did a similar effort to PS to get her to a clear 2nd. But she lookes a lower to mid 70s one on Prev.

Fallon on Romance Story for Suroor as that trainer is presumably going to get fully started soon. 3/1 second favourite on connections mostly. She could be used in a Prev Training Course as an early 'easyish' set test. "You are at KTNA for an early season 7f fillies' Maiden with an odds-on fav trained by Stoute on STO from a solid debut. Is RStory the bigger, powerful and ready type from Suroor who might prove troublesome on superior ability, even from stall 10?" A quick look at the VP picture & compare her to the similar Arethusa tells the story.

In the race Romance Story given a typically 'my own agenda' ride by Fallon. RS doing several things wrong incl running too free, running head to the left and stalling, hanging left and taking time to get going. But, produced a similar effort to PS & Arethusa after initially throwing away the ground she made in the Creep Zone. Also eased far earlier than the other two with Mr 95% coming up well light on that deal and making any staying on jks behind have to slam on the brakes late on to avoid annoying him. The rascal.

Old Fashion a smaller medium one in the feld and in good condition. Made a lesser effort 2f out with the Head a bit Up and a highish action. Green or feeling something? But late 60s into 70s.

Given Millman's STO record in 2014 (returning to previously profitable to follow status) the fact that Nelson's Trick made/found so mush trouble prob a good thing. A bit smaller than some in frame but some build positive. Seemed to move ok as well. Running to free BS, hung wide on the bend, hanging in the HS and cut up by one of those making better efforts 1f out. But staying solidly int he last 1f for HnH despite the issues until the jk had to ease late at the Fallon Roadblock. Must be of interst STO in the right level of race.

No interest in Heavenlyfriendship & Birdie Must Fly but note the 2nd of those another example of a jk fighting the horse early and ending up making the saddle slip and eased early in the HS. Papier not as bad as a wel beaten 40/1 sounds and this a second non involving ride. Just a low level effort at 2f out and not seeing out the 7f. Seems to be one of the few Hannon 2yos given development runs for Nurseries from the start. Low 60s?

Quiet Beauty the interesting on behind and a bigger one in the field and compete to be the best in PRev. ran too free and a just a low level effort before an early fade. But has the substance to develop beyond 70 from this debut which looks poor in the Form Book.
