GF by 15:00pm. GGF from G on Decs. CoC quote = "Rail dolled out 3 yards from 1m to winning post, adding 12 yards to race distances of 1m and over, 6 yards to 7f races and 5 yards to 6f races.". Stiff SW Wind = 1/4+ Headwind from the Left in HS. Average Pace at most and, typically for a MaJo runner here, Chadic getting a soft time in the lead and running the shortest distance along the rail and not hanging helped by the rail. Didn't quite stay the 7f but responding a bit when headed. Hard to judge Chadic's size on VRev but looks ok build. Low 70s but size needs check to see he isn't a smaller medium & neat one. Scutum a similar size and made some extra issues by switching out wide int he HS and then hanging left at times. Eventually produced a short effort capable on overtaking Chadic but then stalling and fading late on. Inclined to think around the HOTH PRev figure of 73 though will get OR75+ for this win. As a general comment around Lwah you would note how jk Dettori just isn't proactive and savvy enough on the Hannon 2yos he has ridden with his Al Thani retainer. Too much hauling horses back and sitting in uncompetitive positions that it qill need an aeroplane to overcome. Dobbs, Hughes, etc. simply wouldn't have ridden Lwah as he was here. They know that this can develop into a frontrunners course and winners from well back need some help unless they are very superior. Lwah hauled back to 3R on the rail early and Dettori seeming more interested in getting him to settle than thinking about improving his position early enough. Lwah losing 2L to the HS on the downhill turn & still no response from Dettori. Then switched up the Camber wide to try to make his effort. Lwah not handling the Camber and roling & laboured progress. Will go down as an 'unsuited to track' presumably but Dettori needs to wise and and get-on-with-it more. While the others were waiting in the HS and pulling wide the jk on Azure Amour got from last into the HS to 3rd 2f out by an early effort down the open rail. Not staying but showing the 65-69 ability she presumably has, at least. Chilworth Bells always racing to wide and a laboured, head up, effort in the HS before a fade. No chance to show if he might be usabe low 60s.Invincible Zeb travelling better in the race than the result shows. Alongside Chadic towards the last 2f and travelling as well. But, close to nothing happened when asked for an effot 2f out and head right and hanging left instead. Presumably will go down in trip & another Harris 2yo of some interest as he goes to handicaps. |
