MPR gushery about Henrytheaeroplane on their website = "This gorgeous colt was bought at the Craven Breeze Ups by Richard Fahey, Robin O Ryan and Nick Bradley. He was one of the horses on everyone's list going in to the breeze although his breeze wasn't spectacular it was solid and kept him on our shopping list. We had good success with our Henrythenavigator colt bought from Lynn Lodge Stud last year and see no reason why this fella won't follow in his hooves. He has already arrived at Musley Bank and Robin was on the phone this morning to say that he has come up the gallops well already. This colt looks Royal Ascot bound and is already sold out due to pre existing interest from MPR owners.".

Yearling picture of HTA from Lynn Lodge shows the usual IP & neat set-up for one by HTN. Perhaps promising a bit more build than mis medium neat ones have? On HTA's Breeze Video the gather part seems to suggest he is still like his yearling pictuure. Neatly made but a but rounder & less power behind compared to a stronger front and longish neck. A bit more power than the 'middling' all round HTN get. Does and unremarkable breeze, mostly straight and a balanced stride once he is allowed to settle into his pace. First 1f a bit ragged when asked to do the timed 'blast' some people seem to look for at the Breeze sales. Since he is debuting over 7f people are not much bothered how fast he can do a single furlong or two.

On first VRev viewing it did not look like a strong pace but only Lieutenant Kaffee finishing the race off fully. LK had sat last from early on which means the Hf to Final positions suggest pace too strong and the Deepish Closer getting to the front late on and Diaz persisting best of the prominent runners as he did on debut. Although only around 4L 1st to Last at Hf. Diaz looking sweaty and mostly settled in the race but doing a bit too much but trying hard.

The stand-out point from early VRev is that Lieutenant Kaffee looks relatively big & bulky in this Field and not the impression he created in PRev FTO. There he was tallish in a 6f group but somewhat narrow and a bit light. Would expect trainer to say something like "he has thrived since NOTT.." or similar. Watch the last 1F as he works his way past the others and he is 1-2 sizes bigger than Epithet all round. Diaz perhaps almost as tall as LK but looking hard trained and notably lighter build & shallower.

Lieutenant Kaffee again showing an ability to travel well in the race and making some ground in the CZ after Diaz uppeed the pace notably early a little before 3f out. Just a solid effort at 2f out and briefly hanging left & wallowing a bit 1.5f out but soon rcovered. Again able to produce enough effort to wear down the leaders as he had FTO. Inclined to up his PRev mark to later 70s but any better than that?

Diaz sweaty and running a bit too free here and fading by the line. Lacking build & hard trained here. 70s? and need to develop to go further. Run ok NTO after a hard race here?

Epithet's performance can be read in several ways. The Godolphin Rep at the course made a WTRB report saying the horse didn't like the softer going. You could support that view by saying he didn't show the same strong effot 2f out as on STO. Against that you could say his effort STO was against less good or experienced horses after getting a soft lead. Here, he was running a bit freely and up against previous winners and horses 'bigger' than him in vaious ways. Perhaps he made the same effort and it looked less good against better horses? He was still challenging into the last 1f and perhaps he just doesn't stay a full 7f? You could also say the Pattern developing for Appleby 2yos is green & uncompetitive FTO, peak STO and less good 3TO. Whatever the full story is clealy one to see how he goes NTO rather than looking to support him.

Henrytheaeroplane a shorter one in the field but bulkier than Epithet. Always running a bit free but producing a similar effort to Diaz & would have finished with that one but for a late ease or hamper.

Joshua Potman by Zebedee and a bulky slightly compact set-up with a deep body. But, doesn't move like a sprinter and a slower action and more of a galloper in front. Outpaced and left behind early here as Diaz upped the pace. You could take the view he looked plain slow and will end up keeping on going up in trip, & down in opposition quality, to see if he can get competitive at some point Since it was his debut it could have just been unfit, unable to move his bulk yet and green. See how that develops. Would like to see him prove he can travel at a reasonable pace and finish a race off first.
