GFF as on Decs in the am with CoC saying the Watering Equipment broke down the previous evening. Desperately "..hoping to get 3mm on last 5 furlongs." before racing commences. Stiff to Medium SSW Wind = 3/4+ Headwind from the Right. Relatively straightforward race with the Result matching the Paddock Review. A Paddock you could use as an early 'Set Exercise' because there were no 'wrinkles' in PRev needed to get the correct result. Only other factor you would bear in mind over the Result Shape would be how fast the ground was and some of the long gaps back some element of not picking up on the going. Fanciful Angel the biggest and bulkiest in the field and fit enough while still having scope. 80+ and at least 1 level above any of the others. Ridden confidently in 2R and jk waiting until just before 1f out to make the effort. FAngel showing some knee action and not picking up immediately and hanging left. But going away at the finish nd a comfortable win. But, you probably wouldn't want to see him on ground this firm again. Looks to have scope to improve and be a good prospect into Nurseries provided the BHA Mark isn't too inflated. The Paddock Review made straightforward because the other 3 from major stables all medium or smaller medium, and neat ones compared to FAngel. None looking a full 75. Midlander ran in the same race as Drumkilbo on debut and much more promising in his effort and finish. Made and ok effot here until hanging left in the last 1f and not quite seeing this 6f out off a Comfortable Lead. Around 70? Drumkilbo a bit smaller than Midlander and producing a lesser effort in the last 2 and an earlier fade as on debut between the pair. You might say that Drumkilbo did not pick up on the ground but perhaps just 60s. Mighty Warrior not well named. You'd want your 'Mighty' ones to be a bit bigger or the foot soldiers are going to be the size of May One. Hard to judge his size FTO on VRev when looking outpaced in a fast 5f race and staying on late without ever getting involved. Jk looking 'big' on him here and a bit smaller & more compact than expected. Another you could say just outpaced and overpowered in the last 2f but another perhaps feeling the going a bit too. Mid 60s? To complete the straightforward PRev test the two smaller, less neat and less well prepared ones off the back from early on and fading before 1f out. What A Party a laboured action in front and looking plain too slow here and up to low level 7f? Presume will end up in sellers and a lot on improvement to make to be usable there. Duke Of Romance too green to judge but a small one in the field |
