GFG at 07:00am from GF on Decs with 4mm of overnight Rain to 07:00am. Still Raining at that point. 15mm of Watering over the Period Mon-Wed. Picture of field just at Halfway :-  Difficult to 'connect' to the field in PRev and no 'Numbers' just appearing. Can happen with a low level group of lighter framed fillies in an Auction event. Nothing really showing a fully positive profile and a bit similar to the Kingsbreidge race of getting a bit 'stuck' on where to go on the Least Worst path. Race seemed just an Average pace and the general fading seemed mostly to do with small & green fillies. Perhaps a little bit of running near the rail an advantage but Percy's Lass seems to make that unlikely. Explosive Lady costing a cheapish £15k in 2013s strong yearling Market but joint most expensive in the field with Junes Moon & Piccadillo in this lower level event. Managed to write down 'Bulkiest' & 64 but couldn't warm too her & despite the muscle definition on the buttock she seemd not fit enough. Looks a different shap in different pictures & the VP shows her at her best. Always head down and looking lengthy with a 'downhill' set-up Back to Front. But, it clearly works ok and too good for this group even while green. Just 60s (?) form to win clearly & struggle if gets OR70+ or another Filies' Auction misjudge? (Hopefully not on the scale on Sandiva). June's Moon small neat & competent run down the rail in the race & mid 50s? Percys Lass in proportion length and a bit leggier & taller in this group. Seemed to move fine. Around 60 noted. Squeezed back at the start and green in the race. But making a solid effort to progress wide in the last 1.5f+. Seemed ok promise for 60+. Part of the lack of connection down to getting sidetracked by Coat Condition & Bright attitudes. Freeze The Secret looking good in Condition but a small one and didn't look that willing in the last 2f. Perfect Girl in a Hood and looking as if she has her own views. But some bulk in this group and good coat colour & condition. Another looking less than willing and balanced last 2f. Closing tallish in the group but scrawny end of lightly made and 40s? Lady Of Illusion ok in condition but small even in this group. Also looking unwiling or some issue in the last 2f. Piccadillo some build positive but oddly shaped overall. Too green in the race but worth checking development as the trainer seems reliable. In summary, difficult to be certain given the lack of connection. Interest over whether ELady is really 70+, PLass seems usable and ok promise here. Check how Piccadilo develops. |
