GS by Race Time with 11mm of Rainfall between 15:40pm & 17:00pm. GFG from GF on Decs. 4.5mm Rin on Sat and 4mm Watering the same Day. Classic Seniority owned by Middleham Park Racing but not listed on their website. Owned in partnership with "B Bull" a long time owner/breeder with his horses trained by the Hannons. Does a moderate Breeze Video and looking very green and hesitant. Rider better at sitting in his tuck than actually taking control of the horse and managing the situation. Looks a shorter one with some typical build positive of Kyllachy but not looking a together sprinter. Moore riding with Hughes on Mumford & Dobbs on Rio Ronaldo for trainer Murphy. Speculator's Breeze Video shows him not looking a fast action sprinter. Grey with length and seems to have a rangy action. Prob smaller than medium and average depth. Toast Of Newbury's Breeze Video shows an IP body and neat smaller sprinter. Disorganised for the first half of the Breeze but better in the last 1f and looks a usable one at some level depending upon his size. Zipedeedodah looking better in his Breeze Video than 12.5k, Presumably smalle but compact and deep bodied. Probably short legged so a will need to be a fast action sprinter. Looks Upright in front. But, some power positive and check if he is a usable little sprinter. Field Racing wide of the rail from Early on and spreading acoss the track in the HS with Tick The Boxes cutting across to finish close to the Far Rail. Difficult race to get a grip on what the Absolute Form level is. Important to set this to check what the promise shown by the 2nd, 4th & 5th amounted to. Tick The Boxes one of two 2yo winners for trainer Cox on the evening and he seems to have his 2yos in very good condition. The winner at RIPN a small and compact filly and looking 50s but managing to win a messy fillies' auction race despite having to circle the field from the rail. TTB allowed to dictate the pace here and got a good number pulling too much behind. But TTB running a bit too enthusiastically himself but handling the gound well and seem to finish quite strongly himself. But running above his PRev? or the race quality behind barely above 70 types? Say 74 at present but seemed to show a bit more here but can he maintain this 'Peak' level. Atletico an 80k Kodiac for Varian which should be 75+ and suggest TTB better than 74. But Atletico not the classic compact & deep sprinter type of the sire and a bit lightly made.Made real ground on TTB from getting behind off a slow start. But, how much of that staying on through faders after some real progress in the CZ? Say 75 but not looking a definite Open Maiden type in a better field. Aussie Ruler running well FTO in a very fast race on firm going over 5f. Why the switch to 6f at all and that compounded here by the ground going Soft. Ran ok but not staying much beyond 5f here and not looking as comfortable on the ground. He ought to be be beating up some lesser field in a fast 5f maiden. Stolen Story another non typical Kodiac get and out of a stout mare. Looking fit for debut here and run well after a slow start and Fallon getting a 2yo more involved than he often does. But 70ish type & raises further question over what the overall potential form level here was and what 'promise' amounted to. Thinking forward would you expect the first 6 home here all to convert to Maiden winners, for eg? Halfway call of some will but it will be a mixed progress seems reasonable. Rather than expecting it just to be a TTBoxes conversion due to strong form here. Rio Ronaldo another expensive one but lacking the build to back that up fully.Showed more promise than the final position shows and a better candidate STO if the trainer 'knows' how to win. Mumford might be the most expensive 1yo for his FS sire and bulky and deep chested in the way that attracts the Hannon/Doyle buying team. Shorter one and has looked suspect mover of his bulk first two runs but seem to click late on STO & stay on. Which makes this run disappointing because he made a lesser effort than some and faded. Unless the going an issue he seems tricky to place. But, has more physical scope than he has shown in ability. The pair in 7-8th Oriental Splendour & Ghalib look sub 70 & Nursery types. Classic Seniority perhpas just 60s & Levey riding with Moore absent. Ran too free and not put into the race. Smaller but bulky one lacking length. Respect for connections means check STO development. Some interest in tracking the other 3 Breeze Buys reviewed above. Toast Of Newbury should be 70+ but much too green to get involved here. Zipedeedodah small in the field but lookig a usable 60s sprinter. Speculator more general interest to see whether his trainer can improve the wild prelims and poor run here. Since it was his 1st 2yo runner ever. And finally, struggling to understand the Plan & Strategy for Qatar Racing. Total Demolition a badly overpriced Breeze Up purchase and a smaller, neat sprinter and prob 60s. Given a ride here by Spencer which would have some pair of 'shrewd' (to use the euphamistic word) trainer & jk setting one up for a Nursery 4TO nodding approvingly. Jk has even spent 15 years hauling horses out of races to the back just to get ready for TD, you know. What was the TD project ever supposed to achieve? |
