G by Race Time. Torrential rain for 15mins after this race with 11mm rain falling. Going changed to Soft after the 2nd Race with this the 1st. GGF from G on Decs. 'Light' Watering on Mon. CoC quote = "There is a false rail in place, approximately 15 feet out from the permanent inside rail. This rails add approximately 12yds to the distance of all races.". Raining before and during the race and hard to believe the going wasn't slower than GGF. Just an average Pace at most and despite that the first 3 home Closers fom the rear and only the winner & Bimbo really finishing the race off. A slow time overall. Horsforth running a solid race in the lead and an ok effort to a clear lead in the HS but fading before 0.5f out and tired late. Miami Carousel producing solid 60s form in previous runs and OR70 workable here the way the race played out and in a field lacking any likely to be under-rated unless Bimbo improved notably & perhaps British Embassy putting a race together. With that pair finding different problems in Closing and MC moving smoothly on the going with a clear run it led to a clear win. Prob just improving into 70s in thses conditions and race set up. British Embassy ought to be competitive off OR67 but not put a race together before & running too free. A bit free here so hauled to the back & then took time to get going on the turn to the HS losing 2-3Ls. Plugging on ok once into the last 1.5f but MC gone by then. Still needs to sharpen his act up and settle better. Bimbo looking high on OR77 given her relative size here. Got stuck on the rail into the last 2F and waiting for a gap. When that came she didn't seem to have the kick to go through it. Ended up making ground by switching out wide in the last 1f and then able to overhaul the faders. Staying on ok at the finish. OR77 pob too high is a solid Nursery. Interesting to understand why Elizabeth Flynn & Sakhee's Return so over-rated for the form they have shown. |
