SUMMARY
25mm of rain in 24hrs to 06:30am despite tracks to north & west reporting 4-6mm.

Fahey in his pre-race SL piece = "Another homebred juvenile having her first start is Per Ardua in the Maiden Stakes at Wolverhampton. She tries very hard at home which is always an encouraging sign." Note that the name was 'Per Ardua' at the Entries stage but had changed to 'Perardua' by final declarations.

Snippet form Dascombe tweet before race = "Don Sigfredo will jump better this time take a good 1 to catch him,"

Race fell apart to a large extent with Don Sigfredo losing many lengths at the start again, then getting to within 3.5L of leaders onto the bend but then hanging and losing ground around the bend. Showing some ability to get back to 2nd late on running the rail but also some suspect Attitude. Jk Kingscote had clearly lost patience with the horse into the last 2F and got stuck in with the whip and hard to judge whether just a green and mentally non-robust one getting scared because of the kickback and running in a pack or just plain unwilling. He did pick up when out of the Kickback and running alone on the rail in the HS but then the head went up again late on..

Perardua got away ok but 2 wide into the bend and started Hanging Right almost immediately and lost 2L around the bend and an ok, low level, effort to get back to 2nd in the HS before fading late on. Which left Elizabeth Flynn to win a weak race by running mostly competently apart from wandering around in a clear lead in the HS. EFlynn entered for the Seller at RDCR on Thursday next week but presumably the Burkes and Norton Common will keep her out of that level for a while longer.
