GFG fom G on Decs. Rail Out by 9yds from stat to cutaway 1.5f fom Finish. Actual Race Distance = 5f & 46yds which is 30yds further than the Rail Fully in 5f 16yds (used the previous day). Dascombe names Captain Revelation as his 'Bargain Buy' in 214 saying a 'Big Strong Horse' who probably wouldn't be out until May because he thought he was a 6f horse.Hard to pick Strings on Jks with regular stable support jk Craine on CRev & 'star' recently ex-apprentice Murphy on Don Sigfredo. Pair drawn 5 & 6. Is CRevelation here because of the owners and a 5.1f race was what was available? Is he the better long-term horse or will he be ready here? FTO wins at CHES rare but Dascombe has had 2 at 5.1f this season but both Kingscote ridden (one of the best at organising debut 2yos to run competitively). A Below 75 Maiden and the first 6 home seem to fit into an OR62-73 range. Stiff Pace meant that the fist 6 home roling to the line as a Heap and none of them finishing the race off. The one horse who could be terms as a 'Closer' was Eastern Racer who dropped back after 1.5f when hung 2 Wide and XB to the rail. Railed Well to to HS to be within 2L + of the stalling leaders inside the last 1F but took time to find a Gap between AJ & AG. When the Gap came he was already starting to fade himself and some sort of 60s. With the rail out and a notably further distance to travel Running the Rail not the necessity it often is. Anonymous John running the rail but never going as well here as he has before = Headgear issue?, Going?, Faster 5f pace? or just a slightly off day? Fading early and perhaps not even a 70? Al Ghuwariyah travelling Lane 1 outside of AJ throughout and looking more ready and suited to 5f than AJ. But, in a race with 3 x App Jks which suggests sub 70 ones, getting 10lbs overall from ERacer, for example. Did well to persist off a stiff pace in Lane 1 but another around 70. Don Sigfedo already run competently off OR68 in a Nursery and doing just 'Ok' here running lane 1. Zuzinia still looking smaller & lighter in this Group and lower to mid-60s and not progressing physically. Why would Midlander ever have been odds-on in this group when he is around a OR72-74 range? Which meant he had close to Nothing in hand on the others and needed to be able to get prominet from 2 off the Rail. Couldn't manage that and then bumped RH turning into the HS. But just a low level effort after that and finishing in a Heap with his level of horses. An odds-on shot here should have been OR84+ and able to ride the issues to fins a way to get tot he lead near the line, for e.g. Ballymore Castle ealier this season. With a Stiff Pace Captain Revelation much too Green to get involved and the race had gone away from here before the 1st 1f done. Showed enough in getting going and keeping the Gap to the leaders pegged to think he is at least the equal of the others in the race. Needs further check. |
