GF as on Decs. 4mm Watering Overnight. Arcano's Gold Breeze Video an oddly mixed story. Smaller Medium & chunky one but round behind. But, visually he does a poor breeze and never gets balanced and moving forward straight. Slightly bounding movement and action not timed Front to Back. Keeps on putting a part bound in to try to respond. Doesn't quite finish the breeze off. For comparison this is a snippet fromt he MPR sales blurb = "his breeze was very impressive and was one of the lots which caught our eye on the day of the breeze. We expect this colt to be out in late May onwards once Richard has assessed him, got him fit and galloped him against his other 2yos. ". But in a later note you could get the impression he was bought whatever the Breeze looked like = "Robin O Ryan [said] 'We were recommended this colt from as early as February from the workriders, and it is very out of character for them to be so keen on a horse so early in the year. We liked him a lot and Richard and I were keen to take a share in him ourselves on the back of the recommendations'.". Fahey in his SLif piece reprises his usual I-know-nothing act = "We run four in the maiden as all the owners want to go to York so we'll let the horses all take their chance. Personally I wouldn't know which one would finish in front - probably Milady Eileen. She's quite a nice filly, " The jks are Tudhope (AGold), W Carson (BBoy), Mathers (CSecret) & his 'star' A3 Chaloner (Milady Eileen). Flaming Spear very expensive at the DBU in April and more to do with Size than the Breeze? Looking a bigger 2yo, helped a little by the rider being small. Deep bodied and ok strong. But, breeze just ok and leaves the impression he is a bit scratchy in front & lacking range. If he is a short & fast action how will that work given his size. Moonlightnavigator almost as expensive as FSpear but a less positive Breeze Video. A medium one by the sire and together with a bit more bulk than the neater ones. But, why the price? Was the breeze faster than it looks? Flashy dark one with white feet tickling 'Go Faster Stripes' responses?. Doesn't move like a sprinter and looks more rangy.and with a knee action. Seems to just get through the breeze and never fully balanced on chewed up ground. Flaming Spear expensive but looking the part here and Moore riding rather than Spencer as a bonus. FS a big on in the field with length and deep front. Moving ok here and different to the Breeze and using his range ok now. With Lady Gemini going like a zippy sprinter in front he took time to catch and pass her and FS looking best late on and staying on well like 7f will be better. 90+ and really intersting to see him over further. Lady Gemini smaller frame but with some length and power and everythign seems to work together and looks a 75+ sprinter above her size. Best Eample looking smaller frame if built and a bit scratchy mover in front. Just a so-so debut and not looking like one who can overpower an Open Maiden STO unless he improves his movement a lot. No particular interest and perhaps more a one-to-oppose STO candidate. Moonlightnavigator a bigger one int he goup but smaller than FS. A bit better effort in later than the 5th place shows, Ok for solid 75+. Essaka another small and fizzy Channon one and back to 5f?. Charlotte's Secret catching the eye again and a solid size for a filly and moves ok when not under pressure. Overall impression here of a filly finding a 6f blast on GF too fast for here. Never fully fading and plugging on back at the finish. Definite 70+ and presumably 7f+. |
