GFG from GF on Decs. 2.8mm Rain Overnight. Stalls Centre. Quote from Charlie Hills website weekly blog = "Cotai Glory has a very high cruising speed and was beaten by what looks a high class horse at Newbury. We're not convinced he stayed the six furlongs and he will probably be dropped back to five. He's been given a rating of a group horse which we think he is." Cotai Glory setting a pace 1.5L Clear after 1f. Settling in the lead and Slowing the Pace before Halfway and allowing some CZ progress from the last trio at Halfway (CG ears pricked after halfway with time to think at the pace he was setting then). Baker on CG then able to sit quiet into the last 2f and up the pace which had different effects on those behind but Limato the only one to be able to carry on making ground on CG and doing it comfortably. CG finally asked for his late race effort inside-1.5f and Limato drawing level. CG getting a bit unbalanced doing this but go reorganised in the last 1f altjough hanging left a bit. Looking like a tiring horse resonding very willingly to the challenge and effort asked of him but not enough left to control his extra effort fully.. Limato looking to have bulked up and still showing the high crucing speed. Moving very straight and efficiently after he had 'engaged' CG towards 1f out and a comfortable win and not having to show whether he still had a quickening kick left. Likely he did an dseems to be progrssing further and one to take very seriously. Adaay look a solid build but a smallish one in the group and lacking the size and range of the first two. Seems to have reached a level where his frame size limits him. Step To The Shears looking like a lighter made 70s horse being overmatched and overpowered. Fast Romance looking an Ok size & build as a filly amongst Colts and racing alongside Adaay and perhaps a little bigger but not as strongly built. Traveled ok to 2f out but a bit green and looking likely to go left as soon as she made her final effort (not moving fully straight before that). Left behind by the efforts and not matching STTS for example. |
