GFG from GF on Decs. Watering been done but no details given. Stalls Centre. Average pace but a quicker time and a stronger final 2F effort from Zuhoor Baynoona despite being a bit green. Fahey seeming to be hitting prime better FTOs territory as May approaches and ZB seemed to be 'known' to the Market. Fahey a trainer where the Market does appea to get signals about which are the better ones and those which start in the lowest two SP Groups (up 2/1 & 2.01/1 to 5/1) record notably better FTO [Est] Aves than those 5/1+ (little differentiation in bottom three groups so the Market only knows a 'part of the fully story'. ZB presumably at YARM for the firmer going ans R. Moore riding. ZB a typically smaller medium one of the sire but well built and probably bulkier than the male King Crimson and similar size. Not looking fully fit and a bit green but a comfortable win having been allowed a comfortable lead. Looks type to improve well and presume will end up in Listed company, say the Marygate. Fahey won both 2yo races on day with FTO fillies although this one looked the better prospect. Fahry starts another (Montefalcon) tomorrow in a PFCT maiden he usually takes seriously and check whether Market gets that one below 5/1. King Crimson a lower 70s one but looked to be developing ok physically STO but still a complete tearaway free-runner so not fulfilling his potential. W Twiston-Davies (App3) riding and now apparently stable jk to Channon. WTD had clearly been told his job today was to get (force) the horse to settle and that trying to win was a secondary factor (like Hughes yesterday with Dougal and a similar outcome). KC hauled back by WTD in stages and dropped in behind to try to make him settle. Which he sort of did, compared to his first two goes, but not fully. WTD then tried to track leading ZB but giving her a 2L+ head start clearly not bridgeable by a horse of KC's level. Brief shots of Wolfofwallstreet made him look a small on and compact. Deep with some build positive but shuffling about and not looking a snappy, little bull, sprinter. Blown away by the first 2 in the last 2 and an early fade. Not one to follow and more a small, fat bloke, of Wall Street. Baileys Pursuit had looked to have a bit more size and potential than her dreaful two runs had suggested. But that didn't really show here and perhaps that view just incorrect or the season already moving on past her. But, too many other negatives including moving awkwardly when asked to raise and effort. Also wearing what looked like a home-made Hood and cheekpieces combo which seemed to have no effect. Mr Shekells green and given a quiet into but looks usable around 60 and check where he goes STO. Mary Ann Bugg on a highish [Prf] figure on the off-chance she was the slightly bigger on that McEntee gets pinking fit and drilled FTO that can win at long odds. MAB a small and underpowered one in PRev so that knocked that back. But, she did ping the break and race in the front line for as long as her legs would carry her so the McEntree 'prep' is still there with the right material Meanwhile, trainer Coogan looking like the other sort of 'small NMKT yard' where it seems to be a 'vanity' project. As McEntee shows even if you have a useless horse you can get it fit and make it run competently. Ralph McTell another Coogan 2yo run appallingly and hardly two stride together in a straight line. Did Mr McTell give his blessing to using his name? Poor McCall. |
