SUMMARY
GGF from GF at 07:00am 6mm rain Sat & 3mm overnight.

Visually just an Average Pace at most and field well packed through Halfway aside from the two green ones off-the-back. But, only the first two home finishing the race off and the Pace seemed to have sorted the field mostly by ability at the finish. Assisted by the Pace being upped around 3f out and the final efforts before 2f out.

The first 3 looked to finish in size order and Spring Offensive running too free early and then green in the last 2f but going away to a comfortable win and staying on well.

Indelible Ink smaller than SO and looking like a barely 75 one sent North to find a weaker maiden. Which he almost did and would hvae been a convincing winner but for a strong Northern yard having a 75+ one here. But Indelible Ink seems one to let win his weak race rather than one to follow.

Al Rayyan back off a break and solid build but shorter than the first two. Niggled along a little to past halfway as if not travelling smoothly. Jk asked for an effort inside 3F out and got a solid response. Jk then able to be sitting waiting towards 2f out in a good spot to make the final effort. But, AR went from travelling ok to hanging left and only making a low level effort when asked. The fading in the last 0.5f. Perhaps finding the ground a bit firm and more promise overall than the well beaten 3rd suggests. 70+ but not definite 75 and back to 6f? Or fitter NTO?

Sovereign Bounty clueless on debut and trainers few 2yos winners usually show a little more FTO. Inclined to treat this run as the 'FTO' given just how stupid the horse appeared LTO. Which would mean he ran okish 70+ promise and still a bit green and a medium size in the group.

Bread competent run and a comfortable time in the lead. But, looking smaller amongst the prominent finishers and an early fade (a bit too sweaty overall). No particular interest.

Not much promise apparent behind that. Dew Pond getting to a poor 6th making places after Halfway after getting outpaced and then plugging on to pick up some really early faders before an early fade himself. Baron Spikey travelling ok to just past halfway and perhaps some build positive. But any mild promise in that way completely washed away by how outpaced he got as soon as the pace lifter. Perhaps not moving well and is that functional rather than being green?

Forgiving Glance small to useless. Cheeky Chapman prob just small and limited but running much too free here to see what he could actually do.

Pensax Boy some promise FTO but prob in a suspect race overall. Tend to dismiss him because the trainer has such a poor record with 2yos. Only ever had a single win (Nurs off OR53 & cost £60k) with a horse he has trained from 1yo onwards. PBoy running better than the final result here but always going a bit free and then, one of a number hanging left in the last 2f. Still just behind the leading line towards 1f out but slightly cut=up and rolled left and never got rebalanced and eased. Better than he showed here but not a positive profile overall.
