SUMMARY
GFG by Race Time. GGF as on Decs in Early am but CoC says they will apply 2.5mm of Watering during the morning.. Rail Fully In according to the CoC report but rail out by 4-5yards for first half of the bend and much further later on the Bned & Rail closer to Centre track in the HS until a 2F out Cutaway..

Unusual Stiff to Medium ENE Wind = Close to Direct Tailwind in the HS.

Farham looking better in the gather part of his Breeze Video. Mature looking and at least medium. Never really gets going in the Breeze and running straight but by leaning on the Far Rail. looking a bit disorganised and laboured overall. But, items that should improve with experience other than perhaps he turns out to be one paced grinder? Given the way Dettori has been riding the Al Shaqab FTOs where is Farham likely to be as they turn to the bend? Drawn 5 and put Kingscote/Dobbs and no reason why he shouldn't be 2R Lane 1 or 3R on the Rail to the bend and given a chance to get involved. Check whether he ends up Last Pair or off-the-back after Dettori has finally woken up.

[Post Race = As soon as you mention it Dettori wakes up, tracks the leaders and finishes 2nd. Must have been the trip to Saratoga (?) in the US over the weekend where he rode 2 winners. Remembered that sometimes you do have to get-on-with-it. Also check whether the Fahey prep was fuller than the Hannon FTOs for the owners have been. Meanwhile, Hanagan is 'at it' instead holding up Azmaam at the back in a relative trundle with the first 8 home beaten less than 4L. ]

After a Wild Pace war for the first 7.1f race here in 2014 (8th through Halfway won at 11L+ back of the lead) the last 3 have settled back into the usual pattern. With Darshini's win here Ryan Moore has won the last 2 setting slow paces in a soft lead from a wide draw. In both races none of the other jks did a single thing to make Moore's job even slightly harder. The last 3 winners at the distance have been drawn 10, 13 & 9. Good examples of how talking about the draw in a one dimensional Good/Bad way is meaningless without factoring Run Style. Especially in Maiden races which tend to split up into at least 2 sets early on for 'Today' & 'Tomorrow' competitors. Talking about the Draw without talking about Pace, Track Biases, etc, is also misleading.

Look at the Halfway Positions to Final Places of the first 8 home then all that happened in the HS was that Best Endeavour & Landwade Lad lost a fews places very late on by stalling or fading but still finished in the Heap at the line and losing very little in VTL terms. The others all made similar efforts and, with one minor exception, only got their Position promoted by the two dropping back late. None of them able to make an extra kick to show something different, even by making an extra 2 lengths say. Look at the race from 2f out to close to the line and it looks 'Static' with the leading 8 making similar efforts and no-one 'going anywhere'. Which means a Low Pace Pressure and suspect to read literally.

Darshini prob 80+ but looking a stayer here and only getting a bit more of a break on the others late on. Givent he advanatges he had you could say his effort was laboured/workmanlike but this sort of Race Shape will do that to most horses unless they have a better kick.

Farham helping Dettori by being free early so pulling to a prominent position. Dettori then helping hmself by progressing early in the HS to overlap Darshini before the 2f effort went. Similar effort to Darshini until losing a bit of ground late on. Similar size to winner if not as deep. Solid 75+ & ought to be 80+.

Cahill a bit less size & build than the first two but ok 75.

Bollihope a bit green overall and looking a bit light in places. But, actually overtaking a horse in the final 2f rather than being promoted by stall/fades. Staying on well at the finish. 75+ presumably but would want to check his build in PRev.

As noted before trainer Balding often brings 75+ ones here to start at 7f. Dance Of Fire a solid size and bulk but effectively hauled out of the race early on (this a Classic eg of a race where decisions taken in the first 0.5f of the race by the jk, largely define where you can hope to finish at the line). Then getting shuffled back around the bend. Pretty good effort given that and fine for 75+ on that.

Landwade Lad perhaps a bit smaller in the group & had the advantage of racing 2nd past halfway. An ok shorter effort once he got going in last 2f. 60s od some sort? Best Endeavour also at a long SP but not as bad/outclassed as that makes him sound. You could shuffle the trainers name snext to the horses here and it would be fascinating to see how much of the Market SP is made up of 'Stable Respect'. A general plus factor for the trainer's record entirely unrelated to the Horse's Size, Build etc. BE looks a soild build and 70ish and didn't stay 7f here.

Azmaam an odd effort all round after a competent enough, prominent racing, debut. Slow to get started then mixing needed to be niggled along and organised with bouts of running a bit too free and hanging at times. Took time to get going in the final 2f then hung left towards 1f out and did respond to a whip crack as if there were some attitude issue involved.

Malimbi probably a bit smaller one in the group and losing ground on the bend and eased before 2f out. Virtualise runing a bit too freely but then allowed to lose ground and eased early int he HS for no obvious reason. Pron ab ok size but trainer too much of a negative.
