GF from G on Decs. Watered but no details given. Field Raced Stands Rail. Long line of 2s & 3s back & away from the rail despite the usable Pace set by Honcho. Pace wond from inside 3F out with Honcho sticking the the rail. Rest of the field undertaking the mass hanging left that happens at many track (THSK, etc) and spread out all across the Centre line of the track by the Finish. A 2f+ Sprint with a bit of warming up in the CZ. Short Sprint nature of the race showing up with the slightly green Future Empie hanging left and taking time to separate himself. But responding well in the last 1f and finishing strongly and going clear at the finish. See notes in Race 82 about Invincible Gold Ran over 5f in early season there and came with a 'reputation' . A bulky one in PRev there but tlooking lengthy and not convincing as ready fopr 5f not able to move his bulk in a 5f test and looking to need further. IG running 2 months later and up 2f to 7f seems to suggest that was a reasonable take by the Reviewer at LEIC. IG able to sit prominent at the 7f Pace here and make a solid effort looking ok for 75. The 25/1, drifting from 16/1, as wrong here as the supported 3/1 on debut was. Market over-reacting to a '0' Form Figure it hadn't tried to understand. Deerfield hard to judge on this run. A touch green overall although visibly learning as he went along. But allowed to drift to the back of the main Group and racing wide. Not knowing what to do at 2F so losing gound then hanging left to Centre Track. Out of the race at that point. DId seem to put his head down and make a real lower level kick before 1f out, Looking a Medium on by his sire with middling build. Neat enough in VRev without looking 'strong'. [Sep 5] Belgrade talked up by Hannon in 214. Looking just a solidly built Medium in this group. Travelled fine to Halfway but losing ground and dropped as soon as Honcho (OR75) upped the Pace 3f out. Mild response on the uphill pat around 1f out. Hannon's not usually so far 'wrong' about an early 2yo (given the ability range they can compare any horse with, both in 2014 and historical 'Shapes). But, looks a bit size limited and perhaps a 75-80 one that travels ok? Steps up to 8f STO and on Polytrack so perhaps he didn't pick up on the firmer ground here.? |
